| ![]() I just graduated college this May, and believe me it really was the best decision of my life. I guess my situation is a little different, NOT going to college was never really an option in my family, it was expected of us. See my parents didn't start going to college classes until they were 35 and had a 4 and 10 year-old. My mother sacrificed so much so my dad coudl complete his degree, she never got the chance too, and now she works as an administrative assistant at a real estate office. My dad is a CEO/president of a security company and low and behold he found himself becoming successful and no longer wanted to be with my mother who gave up so much for him over the years, he is now married to someone that is about 20 years younger than himself and he's enjoying going on exotic trips and my mom works and prays that she will be able to retire someday. Sorry a little off-topic but I guess what I'm saying is go to college while your younger your job opportunities are greater and even if you end up being a stay-at-home mom you still won't grow old looking back and thinking to yourself "I really wish I had gone to college" On another note, college was def. the time where I learned to be independent and organize my life. I went to college 4 hours away from home and two states away (I live in Ohio and went to college at the University of Tennessee Knoxville) anyway I went to college not knowing a single person and it really forced me to break-out of my shyness shell and meet people. I learned to take responsibility for myself, for instance I graduated college with a 2.7 gpa and graduated college with a 3.6 cum laude. Now I"m working and preparing to take the LSAT and start teh application process for law school. |

| ![]() Try going nights part time and working days. Lots of colleges offer online classes so you can get your degree from home. I went to college straight out of HS and dropped out after 3 major changes and 3 full years. I just couldnt get into it. I took night classes part time over the years, got my associates almost 3 years ago and I am continuing my bachelors. I am 30 now and realize how IMPORTANT it is to have a degree! It REALLY IS! So try to do it if you can... even if it takes 10 years! You'll be happy you did... and you will see that you will learn things in your major that you wouldn't unless you ARE a manager and its hard to become a manager w/o a degree or it will take 20 years! (my major is bus management too!!)
