I just know that some forums (not dog related) that are closed to donating members, are wonderful....nothing really happens and it hasn't hurt the members numbers either.

I know paying or not paying, there will always be opinions from one that the other doesn't like.....this is not what I am talking about.

I am talking about people stealing information, scammers, sending PM's wanting information and the like......you know when something is not right....you just get that gut feeling. I normally never give out personal information, so yes having internet smarts is a must......I just think that lately there have been too much happening...too much bad things that are happening, personal things...etc. There has to be a way to stop this.

Okay, I hope I cleared up anything that might have been misunderstood.

I've never understood why people don't share where they buy their yorkies. Everyone tells you to be careful when buying one but they act like it's "top secret" information where they got theirs. I think you should use common sense with regards to personal information on the internet but it's helpful to let people know where they can be safe when purchasing. It's sad that we can't just have a Web site and talk to each other and not get all this crap in between. Unfortunately, it's reflective of the world at large and we won't be able to keep all of it out, paid membership or not.

Others have posted lots of good advice about keeping ourselves safe. We'll just have to be a lot more vigilant ...
