I need some computer help please! My daughter in law had me save pictures from her camera card as shortcuts to my desktop. Now, normally that's not how I would do it but that's what she said she does. Anyway, now I can't delete them! My arm is sore from deleting them in groups and individually from my desktop and from the recycle bin but everytime my computer starts up they're back! I even tried to highlight all of my desktop shortcuts and then re-do the ones I need but it won't do that either...and I've tried a system restore but that didn't even work. These things are multiplying...help! If she gave me some kind of virus I'm going to be totally...well...I'm gonna be mad!

Yes, I tried that and they just won't stay gone. I don't know what's going on...I delete and they appear again. I don't know where else to look and my arm hurts now!

The only reason I can think of about your files replicating is a virus. You should run some antivirus software. http://en.allexperts.com/q/Computer-...ting-files.htm when you load your pictures click browse to change the folder off of the desktop.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I've never put a camera card directly into the computer yet, but ... I had a problem similar to this with a flash memory stick. The computer decided that I hadn't removed the stick correctly and kept telling me it was there until I went through my hardware folder and deleted it and through the "safely remove hardware" function. Not sure if this will help you. Just a thought. GOOD LUCK! |

Thank you for the suggestions...they seem to be gone and I hope for good! Villette...I ran housecall and it didn't find anything but a cookie so that's good! I feel pretty safe now that 2 systems didn't find anything. Ozzie'sperson...I thought about your post and wondered if a gremlin took over when I removed Tracie's card Wednesday. So, I put my card in, opened up the program and shut it down then pulled my card out. That's when I was finally able to remove the picture files from my recycle bin, desktop folder and the actual desktop. So, hopefully that will be the end of them. It's too bad though...they were pictures of our grandson as we were pulling him around the lake behind the boat on the 4th of July. We bought a great big float thingie that holds 2 people and you pull it behind the boat...he was having a blast! Maybe Tracie can salvage some from her camera card.
