| working with little children = DANGEROUS lol So... ever since I started working at a daycare I managed: (1) to twist my ankle twice (2) to get bruises over every single limb of my body...a few times I looked like I had been beaten up (3) get strept throat for the first time in I don't know how many years (4) catch pink eye...three times! (5) catch a cold at every chance I finally began to feel well and recover from another cold and most recently that resulted in my first ER trip as a result of work: get bleach splashed in my eye while disinfecting and end up with a corneal burn It did not feel good at all And the million eye drops they put into my eye at the ER didn't help Now I am walking around with this really sexy white "patch" over my eye with white gauze tape strapping across the top and bottom of the patch...watch out boys, I'm eye candy I leave for Florida on Saturday...and can't even swim The chlorine will irritate my eye more I can't wear eye makeup When the bleach splashed in my eye, I started crying and ran out of the room and down the hall into the bathroom...I came out of the bathroom crying and heading to the front desk when one little boy, about three, goes "Miss Melissa got an owie? I kiss it and make it all better!" and I wanted to give him a hug...through all of this, all I have to do is think about him saying that to me, and I smile! Working with little kids can be DANGEROUS! But it's still worth it...even if I did earn a new nickname with my friends: Captain One Eye

I remember my daycare working days. I know exactly where you are coming from. I would catch all that the kids had and be sick during the week, get over it on the weekend and then get sick again during the week. It just got old. LOL That and my boss didn't pay very good.

| Bless your heart! I teach high school, but I feel your pain. Your immune system will adjust somewhat with time. We refer to the first few years as "germ warfare". That doesn't help with the bleach thing! OMG...owie! Take care of yourself.
