What a beautiful little boy Mikey is. I have 100% faith that Mikey is going to beat this meningitis or whatever is keeping him down and he is going to go on and be a big healthy boy with no signs that this ever happened to him. I am keeping the faith and saying a prayer. Get well Mikey, we are all pulling for you.

Quick Update
 

I do not have much time, but I wanted to give you all a quick update like I promised. I have to run and do Babybear's therapies(water therapy, physical therapy and massage therapy). I am going to post my daughters update that she sent to me. I hope this explains some things.
Here it is::: hey everyone. sorry i didnt update you all last night. im extremely exhausted and just wanted to stay with my baby. he did well throughout the night. they are planning on slowly taking him off the respirator. they will keep the tube in and try a cpac to see if he will breathe by himself. if he doesnt, the tube will be there just in case and they can continue him on the repirator. but he is becoming a little more alert each day. they tried more iv's today and he was actually kicking the nurses hand away when she tried sticking him. this is a BIG leap from friday, when he was just laying there, doing nothing the entire time they were sticking him (which was close to 15-20 times). his blood culture has not come back yet and we are still waiting on that. he is having his EEG done right now. we will find out results a little later from that as well.
i did get a HUGE slap in the face though. i found out today that his white blood count from his spinal fluid was a couple thousand (which is SEVERALY high). so they said they will be needing to medicate him for 10-21 days. all of which he will be here for. i knew he would be here a while, it just finally hit me though when they said the amount of days. again, i will not be leaving him. and i will continue to update.
but i must get back to my baby. so i will update you all tonight when we have results from everything. thank you

I will update again soon. And they you all for all the prayers and liting the candles again. I guess I will be holding the ceremony longer than I was hoping. But I keep the candles going until he comes home. Thank you all again.

Sounds like there is a little fighter there and he wants to get better so that will help him. I would kick the nurses too if they kept stabbing me with needles. Like I said before, he will get better I just know it.

OMG I'm in tears! He's such a precious, precious beautiful little boy. God bless him and his family during this difficult time.

Hi everyone,
Here is the latest update that my daugher sent me. I can not say it any better than her so I will just paste her post here. Thank you all very much for think, praying and liting candles. I will say this always.
hey everyone. i just wanted to let you know he tried the cpap again and didnt breathe. so he is still on the respitator. they will try again tomorrow. they said its probably cause he is still too sick to be able to breathe by himself still. other then that, the day has been pretty uneventful (which is good in the PICU). we still havent heard results about the EEG. however, i was able to see pics of his cat scan and saw the fluid build up the doctors in rochester were concerned about. the doctor explained that it is considered cystic hygroma because there is fluid build up around his brain now. there are no cyst, but the fluid obviously is not suppose to be there. they are expecting it to go away on its own, but will keep a watchful eye on it. mike was able to come up for a bit today, but is working tomorrow (which is a good thing!), and his car started to over heat again. so it may be a few days before he can make it up here again. its hard when the family is scattered everywhere. talk to you all later

What a precious baby boy and bless his sweet little heart. I lit a candle for Mikey and have prayed and will continue to do so...for Mikey to be healed and strength for his family. He is so darling. I'm so sorry he's having such a struggle. *HUG*

I just seen this thread. My heart goes out to you and your family. I can't imagine what you are going through. Babies are so precious. I will light a candle too and be praying like crazy. May God Bless little Mikey!
