| ![]() Brenda, I just read this thread, and I want to say I'm so sorry about what your baby is going through! Have you tried giving Simon some mackerel or tuna? Maybe he would eat that? But I know with urinary problems, foods that are high in purines would not be good, and I know fish is high in purines...Ummm....how about eggs with rolled oats or maybe cottage cheese? He might go for that! I'm praying for little Simon!!

| ![]() Simon is beautiful! I'm so sorry you're going through this. We went through something similar with our cat and eventually had to let him go. It was sooooo hard, especially since our kids were young at the time. I'm sending healing thoughts and prayers your way! |

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | ![]() Thanks so much everyone for all your support! I really needed it and appreciated it more than I could ever say!!! I beleive your prayers are working!!! He's gained his bladder control back and some of his back leg usage! His back legs went from feeling ice cold to warm again!!! Last night he actually walked. It was far from a normal walk but my little guy is fighting!!! It seemed once he was able to get himslef up and moving the better he did. We are pretty sure it was a stroke and everyone keeps preparing me that it can happen again ![]() He is still not eating, but taking the formula I make him. I left him with cottage cheese this morning so I'll check when I go home for lunch to see if he touched it. So I just wanted to report in that he's trying to walk and has made progress! Does anyone have anyother suggestions to offer him to eat? He wouldn't take chicken and he's never like tuna. Thanks again for everyones prayers!!! I think they are working! To go from complete lower paralized to some wobbly walking .........its amazing from how I found him Sunday |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | ![]() Brenda -- That's GREAT news about Simon. I so empathize. We had a similar experience last year with Tigger, my 15-year-old Tabby. Thought for sure he was a goner due to a nasty infection. But he battled back and is now SO spry and lively again. We also had lots of trouble getting him to eat. At vet's direction, I tried jars of baby food. (Used Gerber ham and beef alternately, no onion powder in ingredients.) Diluted with a little hot water and he lapped it up. To get him interested, we put some on his nose -- forces him to lick it off. Little by little, he started to eat again. Good luck. Hope that Simon's road to recovery continues. Thoughts and prayers. |

| ![]() Awww, he's precious! I do understand because our toy poodle, Dax, had a stroke in the end and that's when we finally had to make that horrible decision. We had been prepared for the end for about a year but he kept fighting. After his stroke, we went straight to the vet who confirmed that he was ready. That's amazing that your cat has managed to come back from the stroke. I think you have to do what you feel is right but as long as he doesn't seem to be suffering, then just love him all you can and enjoy your time with him.
