Yes, and click "quick links" then "subscribed threads" to see any thread that you've already posted to. I move back and forth between the two and it seems to work pretty well. However, it's still possible to miss a lot. |
Interesting First off - Kathryn - DON"T CLOSE! :thumbdown :thumbdown Folks - I have only ordered from Kathryn one time. Got the tooth stuff and some pixie stix. Not a huge order by any stretch of the imagination. Wasn't expecting a whole lot other than fast service which is what I had seen in reviews for Kathryn before. Unfortunately, she was headed out of town so my order was delayed by literally a few days. Big whoop! My babies teeth hadn't been cleaned in months - what was another few days? Here's where the customer service comes in. <Man...in the future folks - DON"T get me started on customer service!> Kathryn's Customer service???? TOP NOTCH - DOESN"T GET BETTER THAN THIS!  Not only did I get the priority shipping (like everyone does!) and the cute little tissue paper wrapping and the little doggie print ribbon wrapping each individual product - she enclosed a cute little HAND WRITTEN Yorkie note card APOLOGIZING for her "delay" of 3 days. But wait! There's MORE! She also enclosed a GIFT CERTIFICATE to use on my next purchase! WHAT THE HE!!????  Seriously - THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE IS PRICELESS! Secondly - I'm rather new here myself. Came on recommendation over a phone conversation when looking to buy a Yorkie Pup. It was all bubbles and birdies until I decided to buy my pup from someone else that I met on here - now I don't even hear from the folks who recommended the site. Barely hear from anyone else as well. I post - don't post randomly to every post out there - but I post when I feel I have a good contribution to make. I like to show off my beauty too, just as everyone else does. And I don't get very many responses. Haven't built great relationships, even though I have tried. But honestly - I haven't been on in a while because of the in-fighting. Having been a chatter before - I know that Admin can't and won't ban everyone with a foul word in their heads otherwise we'd all be out! But there are definate cliques and it's hard to make a dent. I'll keep looking and I'll keep posting when I feel I have a serious contribution. And everyone else will keep doing their thing. But DON"T bash Kathryn for speaking her mind. Clearly she's a good girl and well loved. To quote a bumper sticker: "Mean people suck!" Hugs Kathryn - look for my order soon! Love, |

Hello Guys, I have been quietly observing this thread and have a few things to say and also some questions. I came to the site because I wanted advice on how to train my Holly. I found great help and can honestly say that Holly is potty trained, groomed, and even fed based on the advice I got from YT. I DO have to say that I got a warm welcome and made a few friends even. Anyhow, I felt bad spending so much money on clothes since we'd averaged about 2800 already from paying for my Holly, the items we needed for her and so forth. So I decided to make her a little easter outfit. My friend Joy loved it and contacted me about possibly making one for her. So I did. I still make stuff and have posted a few things. And I have to say that the reason I donated is honestly because 1.) I really wanted in on the secret. 2.) I wanted to give SOMETHING back to YT since it really did save me quite a bit of money with different advice about alternatives. and finally. One of my main concerns is that I don't step on any toes. I love everyone's work and I would would order stuff in a heartbeat. I have in fact. My question is: What rules for you guys wish were in place as far as sales? I'm just curious. I still don't know who KathrynV was talking about, but I do believe I've read some threads that may be what she's talking about. I hope you realize that there will ALWAYS be HATERS. Always. People trying to try to knock you. Kathryn, I just hope you can draw strength from your friends. You giving up is what THEY want. Don't do it girl. You have way too many people in your corner that LOVE your store and your service. YOU ARE TOO GOOD TO GIVE IN TO THIS Nonesense. Keep smiling and just shake this right off your shoulder. Good Luck and just remember all the good adivce you've gotten. |
Awwwwwwwww. that's so sweet. |
OK, Here is where I get egged, I guess. When I first came to YT it seemed to be full of yorkie savvy people who offered a lot of help & advice. I miss those, where did they go? Anybody remember Lacy's Mom? She knew everything about our doggies. I had just about as much faith in her posts as I do my vet. There were other helpful breeders, groomers, & show people who posted a lot, (thanks dray for going to considerable trouble to teach us how to make bows rather than trying to sell them to us) and I learned a lot from them. Now, sometimes, it's like an infomercial on tv, everybody wants to sell you something or even asks (or strongly hints for donations). I don't dress my dogs and don't feel obligated to support those who do. I'm sure I'm a cynic but I would hope that if someone really needs help, they can find someone they actually know to help them & not be dependent on an online forum. I've seen it happen that the same person who needs help one week is posting about buying doggy apparel the next week. Dog clothes are cute but they are certainly not a necessity. Just providing food, immunizations, grooming & medical care for our little divas is an expensive proposition and a luxury. If you are truly in need, you just can't afford it. I don't mean to be ugly but the original post did sort of feel like a guilt trip to me. If the product you are selling & the service you are giving makes people happy, then great. If someone else knows where to get it cheaper & wants to share that - great, that's free enterprise. I donated to YT for the new server because I appreciate the medical, grooming & training advice I have gotten on this site. I make it a general rule not to give to anonymous requests on the internet. I'm sure there are some genuine cases of need but the local church or community would be much better able to know if there is a real need than us just going by what someone says. Just for the record, the best dog treats I ever got were from the lady who scammed a bunch of YTers & disappeared off the site. She treated me fine- if I had not read all the posts from those who were "had", I would have thought she was a-ok to do business with. I'm sorry I'm beginning to ramble, just don't think it is fair for anyone to try to make anyone feel guilty for not buying from them if they can get a better deal somewhere else or donating to causes you really know nothing about. |
Okay, I thought YT was just a place to talk, meet people, express your thoughts, help people, give advice, etc..., but I'm starting to get the feeling if you are not a SENIOR Yorkie Talker you don't have the right to do ANYTHING. It's like ALL the newbies have to prove themselves to the senior YT'ers, WHY?? |

If anything I said made you feel that way, I apologize. :( Also, I should have mentioned how helpful Villette is with the avatars & picture postings. She is a real asset to YT as well. |

I just wanted to add this i really wanted to try and stay out of this but..... I came to YT as a yorkie mommy i was new here as well it is a very busy site and a lot of threads just get lost. I love it here it feels like a family to me. I only recently started selling clothing Items at the request of some of the members here. I don't flood the site with advertizement for my products i sell them when i have time to sew. I am mainly here to learn and share my experiances with others. i am a very active member i am on everyday and i try really hard to suport everyone here. I try to say everything with kind words and with tact because that is how i would like to be treated. There are a lot of politics that go on behind the sceane that a lot of members here don't see with the selling aspect, The only reason i have seen it is because i have started to sell my things here. I understand the business aspect and the industry but i honestly think so highly of YT and the members here and think we are a close nit group that i never imagined a lot of the cut throat techniques that go on behind it all in the sewing and selling field. I completely understand that people like a bargain and i see no problem with people posting their finds but it's when they dilebertly target another member to hurt her and her business is when i find it appaling. I truely wish that someone would post these threads so all can see for them selves. I love all the new people that come on and no they don't have to prove themselves to anyone. I think a lot of new people get over whelmed by the mass of people here and get lost in the shuffle. the best way to not have this happen is to get out there post some new threads let everyone get to know you. This all saddens me that people can be so disrespectful we are a community not just an online chat forum we are a family and we are all very close so yes it pains us when we feel we have been stabbed in the back. Some of you don't buy clothing or other items that some people make and that is fine but there are others who do and enjoy getting hand made quality items. IF I HAD A CHOICE BETWEEN SELLING MY ITEMS AND JUST BEING A MEMBER I WOULD HANDS DOWN JUST BE A MEMBER!! that is how important you all are to me. Please understand that some of us are sewing to support our families and our names are what we pride ourselves in and when some one comes on just to tarnish that name it really hurts us. I am sorry to go on for so long and i hope you all can understand what i mean. Thank you all here at YT and the Admin and Moderators with out you we would not be here. But to all the members please we need to be respectful of eachother and try to help eachother out. |

I think the majority of YT people are very friendly and welcoming. That being said, certainly friendships and trust do need to be developed. That takes time. Just like any real world community, people aren't automatically as close to the person they just met as they are to the close friend they've been having lunch with for the past 5 years. So,while newbies are often welcomed with open arms, it does take awhile until people get to know them. MG, I've been posting here since 2005, and have not been shy, but I still feel that there are many here that I don't know all that well. It takes time. That doesnt mean you have to prove yourself, just give it time until people get to know you. And believe me, even now, if I am thinking of purchasing something from someone, or deciding where I fall on an issue that a member has posted, I will go back and read thru past posts. Often, knowing a little more about a person helps to create the context within which I understand what they are saying. |

LOL, Amber, no one can EVER question your support. In just 10 short months you have well over 4000 posts! And I believe you hosted a marathon event a 4wt when YT was down. Anyway, great post, Amber!!! (btw, how's the neck?):) |
