Recons mom thats how i do my pasta salad as well. lol I also add cut up salamie and brocolli. you can also add black olives. Its a great salad cause you can expierment with different veggies in it. My fav is green peppers in it. |
Another thing I throw lots of parties so i would also be interested in different drink recipes both alcoholic and non alcoholic.!!!!!!! thanks |
I have a few really good summer drinks that you can drink with or without alcohol. What we should do is get a list of email addresses together as to who wants to be in on this and do it that way. I think it would be way easier. What do you think. Then we would all have them in our email and easy to print out. I would be more than willing to help out if we want to do it this way. |
I love satays! Im veggie so this is just with veg, but I guess you could add chicken or something to it. This amount serves 4 3 tbsp crunch peanut butter 3 tbsp sweet chilli sauce 100 ml thick coconut milk 100 ml veg stock 2 tbsp soy sauce 300 g thin egg noodles 2 tbsp sesame oil 2 inch piece fresh root ginger, grated 3 small clove of garlic finely sliced 140 g tender stem broccoli florets 1 small red bell pepper 85 g baby corn sliced lengthways 50 g mangetout 50 g asparugus 20 g chopped scallions (spring onions) 25g peanuts roughly chopped small handful of fresh basil leaves mix the peanut butter, chilli sauce, coconut milk, stock and soy sauce to make a smooth satay sauce. Cook the noodles as per instructions on packet. Heat the oil in a wok and stir fry the ginger broccoli, peppers, corn and asparagus for 3 mins, add the mangetout, scallions and garlic and stirfry for 2 mins. Pour over the peanut sauce and bring to the boil. Drain the noodles thoroughly, add to the wok and stirfry over a high heat for 1-2 mins. sprinkle over the basil leaves and peanuts and serve!!! |
That sounds good recons momma. I was thinking maybe a seperate thread for different types of recipes. Whichever is easiest. I love this I cant wait to see what kinds of recipes everyone shares. Need to go find my recipe book lol |
Punch Slush Boil 2 cups sugar and 3 cups water together for 5 minutes. Add: 1/4 cup lemon juice 1 large frozen orange juice 1 can apricot nectar 1 package frozen strawberries, thawed and pureed. (I usually add an extra pkg of strawberries, because I like em!) FREEZE….Scrape into glass and pour 7-Up, ginger-ale or sprite over. Make it as thin or as thick as you like! Mmmmm Mmmmm Goooood! Great to cool you off on a hot summer day! (I freeze mine in an ice cream pail. It takes quite a while for it to freeze, so if making it for an event, do it a couple days ahead of time. You can leave this in your freezer for months and it stays good. I always have a pail of it in my freezer in the summer. You can also use this in a punch bowl...take it out a few hours before you want to use it so it's not so solid...then put into punch bowl and pour a couple liters of 7-up over it and mix it a bit. You can also add alcohol if desired.) |
I think this is a great idea i love trying new recipes!!!!! My husband will appreciate something different |

Sorry all, I have a bunch more recipes to add to this but I have had a hell of a weekend. I went to the hospital saturday night with sun poisoning. I was in Chicago the whole day saturday and had put SPF 50 sunscreen on but it didn't work. I am burnt to a crisp. I ended up getting really sick and had a siezure. I am still a hurting unit to say the least. I cant wear normal clothes. Cant put on a bra cause it hurts my shoulders so bad I want to cry. Anyway, now that I am home i will start adding more to this list. |
For that cabbage and ramon noodles recipe, you can add a can of chicken to it also. And here's my family's favorite salad: cut-up hard boiled eggs (1 per person) cut up lettuce (1/4 head for each person) 1/4 to 1/2 cut up purple onion sliced cucumber (1/4 for each person) cut up raw fresh cauliflower (1/2 cup for each person) cut up tomatoes (1/2 per person) cut up raw fresh brocoli (1/2 cup for each person) 1/2 cup deli turkey 1/2 cup deli ham 1/2 cup bacon bits Add Ranch dressing and mix all together very well. Ymmmm  |
So sorry to hear about your bad burn. Get well quick! My prayers are with you. Your yorkie will be great comfort to you. :p |
