| I am crushed... As many of you know I have a new maltese puppy Bentley. He was kind of a impulsive buy, fueled by my daughters begging. I have always loved the maltese breed and I love Bentley. Before I bought Bentley I was going to buy another yorkie from the breeder I got Hannah from. Well the litter that was available was from a different mom but the same dad. I had a couple picked out but I just decided to wait until she had another litter from Hannahs mom and dad. Well she informed me that she was not going to breed anymore because she wanted to travel and take a break. She told me that all her puppies from the litter that I had the 2 picked out had been sold. So at this time I thought that I had missed out on the litter from a different mom and that now I would never get a puppy from Hannahs mom and dad. She told me that she is keeping Hannahs mom and her mother took Hannahs dad. So, I bought Bentley. I wanted another puppy from Hannahs mom and dad soooo bad. Then today I find out that 4/4/07 Hannahs mom and dad had another litter. I am devistated. I love Bentley but if I had known that she had that litter I would have never gotten him... . That doesn't change how I feel about him now, but I feel crushed. I want another yorkie from Hannahs mom and dad sooo bad but I don't think I can handle another dog or afford to take care of it the way I think that dogs should be taken care of......I am so devistated . What should I do. My family will try to commit me into a psychiatric institution if I get another puppy, not to mention that my husband would divorce me. I don't know what to do. I already have 4 dogs and a cat. But we just bought a 200 acre farm and will be building a BIG house soon. But I don't have the room now and I am not sure that I could give 5 dogs the attention they deserve, actually it is hard to give 4 dogs the attention. I guess I will just have to walk away from this one... . Please if anyone has any suggestions for me I would greatly appreciate it......Genie |

| To be honest, I think you answered the question yourself. If you are unsure if you'll be able to care for all of your pets, why would you get another one? Sounds like you already have your hands full.

| Oh i'm sorry I wish I knew what to tell you. I see two choices. Love Bently and don't look back, or two, rehome Bently and get the yorkie you wanted and don't look back. I love his name by the way.

| Thanks. You are right those are my choices, but I could not rehome him...I love him too much and I know he loves me just as much...although, Hannah would probably be happy about rehoming him... |

| Ditto! He is so clean and white! I'd love a Maltese, but I would so afraid it'd consistently be dirty. Not to go off topic but how do keep him looking so good?

| I just got my 3rd dog. I have my 3 yr old yorkie Cookie, 1.5 yr old Lola Maltese and 3month old Yorkie Angel. My kids and husband help out for certain things like cleaning up and baths. But I mainly do those things everyday for them and it is work.If you think you can't give them all the attention they need then you already answered your question. Your Bentley is adorable and I am such a sucker for boys! I think they are the sweetest furbabies! By the way you are the first person in ages that spells their name exactly like mine! I'm also Genie, from PSL ,Florida Genie Cookie Lola Angel |

| If you could only see him right now...LOL. He and Hannah was at the farm playing today and he looks like a stay dog...LOL (and smells like one). But when I got home he was sick and vomiting and I had to give him phenergan-a whole other thread-but I didn't think that a bath would be a good idea. Anyway...I just use regular dog shampoo (pet silk the last couple times). I have ordered some whitening shampoo to use because he has a little yellowing on his feet and bottom, but I am afraid to use it because I have heard it is very drying and can damage the coat. He had the yellowing when I got him so now I think that with the good quality shampoo I use now that the yellowing won't get anyworse, and I am going to use the whitening on his feet and bottom. Also I spray him with CC Ice on Ice and comb him everyday and I think that helps because it repells dirt and stains. I thought he would be really hard to keep white and clean looking too but he isn't. Thanks for you comments.....Genie |

It is very rare I find another "Genie"...LOL. I also do most of the care of my dogs too, but I don't work outside the home (well I work two 4 hour shifts a month in the ER to keep my skills up) so it really doesn't take much of my time and I really enjoy doing the baths and combing and walking. Boys are very very sweet and loving. I have a male lab-Diesel, and a male golden-Jake too. I can't leave out my cat Sunshine. I love all my pets and I would love to have more, but I don't know about that right now. Last edited by genie; 05-04-2007 at 09:54 PM. | |

Our Blessings R Many Donating Member | He is adoreable You are letting the love shine through you by not parting and rehoming Bentley, that is what having a pet is all about.....LOVE. You also are a caring person to realize the care and well being of four is enough. Bless you for the love you have for each of yours. He is adoreable and love the name you chose for him. Patti |
