Oh man girl that looks awful....did he say if it was a sty ?? My brother had a few when we were kids and my mom used to rub her gold wedding band on it...I have no idea why but there was something in the gold that helped with the swelling ?? I don't know what to tell you but hope you feel better soon did you get stung by a bee maybe ? |

it looks like it is swollen right where you'd put eye liner is that right??? might you have gotten some of the wood from the eyeliner stick stuck in your skin?? did you just wake up one morning like this??? (by the way.. i'm no nurse :p) but i've also woken up with one eyelid swollen.. i think it was last summer... i don't think i got it looked at and it just went away.. but mine wasn't painful.. sorry i guess i am no help. you might want to get another opinion! |

It looks like a sty to me. My eye swells just like that before it comes to a head under the edge of my eye lid, some times even going down into my face. the sweeling gets so bad it looks like I have black eyes . make sure to keep your fingers away from your eyes. I have to use ice on mine . I use to work in a candle factory and would sweat and from me always wipeing the sweat from my eyes it would cause a bad sty. |
Swollen Eye Hi Amber, My advice would be to call your doctor if your eye has gotten worse since he saw you. It is possible that you have had a reaction to the drops that he gave to you. My oldest son's eye looks like yours when he gets a sty.Sometimes they have to give him oral antibiotics. Call your doctor or go to the ER. Susan |

OOOUUUCCCCHHHHHH! That makes my eye hurt :( I was going to say pink eye too, I had it last summer and wow does it hurt. Can you call your eye doctor tomorrow? I sure hope you feel better soon. Have you tried putting a warm washcloth on it, that might make it feel better. |
he told me to use the drops every 6 hours then he looked at my eye again and then said every 3 hours lol. he said if the swelling goes to my lower lid i have to get in asap. i think i might call tomarrow if it's not getting better. He told me to ice it no heat because it will not take the swelling down. my eye is so raw and the swelling is putting so much pressure on my eyeball i keep getting migraines. agghh i hate this!! |
please, if there's no improvement, go to your doctor first thing in am! This is really strange. A previous poster mentioned that you could be reacting to your drops:eek: Do you think that's the case? |

Go see your eye doctor. That cobblestone appearance is a sign of allergic conjunctivitis. You could try some Benadryl and see if that helps. Don't waste time with your GP, see your eye doctor ASAP. |
Ive been so worried about your eye! I wish they had better answers last night. I hope you go straight to the eye doc tomorrow! I googled cobblestone+eye and got hits but here is a link http://www.allergyclinic.co.nz/guides/9.html I dont think her eye looks like yours but who knows??? |

http://www.emedicine.com/oph/topic85.htm Sorry I did not see your post yesterday, I could not get on YT. |
That looks really painful Amber!! I've had conjunctivitis before and it hurts!! One of those old remedies is to wet a plain tea bag with boiling water - then cool it down and put it on the eyelid. Not sure why it helps, but it does.... Hope you're better really soon!! |

You could be developing a sty under your eyelid. I have seen those before. Does your eye itch? Usually allergy related eye problems itch. Are you using antibiotic drops/ointment in your eye? Try not to touch your eye much. I think you need to go an eye doctor tomorrow. Also my eye swelled up like that and hurt and one of the docs I worked with in the ER told me to wash my eye lid where my eyelashes are with baby shampoo 2-3 times a day because one of the ducts was blocked with cheesy stuff. It worked too. So you might try that. |
