| Congrats! Having gone through 4 miscarriages myself, two before each successfull pregnancy. I would recommend holding off on telling anyone until you are past 12 weeks. I think I may have been a bit superstitous too as a result of what I went through. JMO.... I felt horrible when everyone knew I was pregnant and then miscarried. When everyone knew then they were all calling me offering sympathy...etc and that was really the last thing I wanted at that point was to talk to anyone. I didn't want anyone's sympathy, I just wanted to be able to have a baby. I have a good suggestion on how to tell your Mom..... Send her a Mother's Day card that reads Happy Mother's Day Grandma. ![]() I even held off on telling my husband for a few weeks as I didn't want to disappoint him again. But at around 8 weeks pregnant Father's day rolled around, so I sent him a Father to be Card for Father's Day, that is how I told him.

| give her a "grandma" birthday card! We did this with our first, and gave a "grandpa" card to my FIL... it was pretty funny and a special time! My only advise is to ENJOY every minute of it! Dont read too much... some of these things freak new moms out, but its a super feeling, thats for sure! Good LUCK and Congrats! d

| Congratulations!!! What wonderful news!! I was thinking if you had a sonogram, you could ask them to print a pic off for you and then put it in a I Love Grandma frame for her and give it to her as a gift. If not, then get her a shirt that says something to that effect on it. The picture would be a great keepsake though. Please keep us updated on your progress!

| I really want to do them all! Give her a 'Happy Bday GRANDMA' card, sign it from the 3 of us, and give her a sonogram pic (hope I can get one!) in a grandma frame! Overkill? Maybe - but I don't think she'll ever forget this bday! Woohoo! Can you tell I'm excited!? Hope I can wait it under wraps til her bday! |

| I just have to add my heartfelt congrats and best regards and wishes and prayers and... As a Mom of seven (human children) who are mostly grown now I confess to loving being pregnant and having babies! Thank goodness I also loved a houseful of kids and, yes, even teenagers! My kids have told me the news of a grandchild coming with cards signed by them and "baby". With my first GC they got me a T shirt that said "Grandma". One of the cute ideas was when I got a card with pink and blue paint swatches and the question..."should we paint the "extra" room pink or blue?" OK...that took me a moment but once I got it I loved it! I hope you have as much love, joy and hapiness that I have had with my family! |

| In April of 2004 my daughter gave me a picture frame for my birthday with a computer printed announcement telling me that I would be having a new grandbaby in October of 2004. It was really special and brought tears to my eyes. Her Dad was just as touched as I was. We both loved it!!!! |

| Congratulations! My best advice is to enjoy every minute of it even the not so pleasant parts. My son and dIL just told us they were pg. Laura just sat down to talk and handed me a sono picture. Even though it is my fourth grandchild, it is their first and I am soooooooo excited. Your mom will be thrilled. I like the grandma card idea. |

| Congratulations, I hope everything goes well for you and your husband. My daughter made her announcement to me with a Grandma charm for a link bracelet and my hubby got a Grandpa coffee mug. She miscarried her first and then started the fertility. During the break she also found out that she had gotten pregnant on her own. She had a great OB/GYN who watched her very close. What would be neat is to take a family picture of you and your husband. Then you could be holding a baby doll wrapped in a baby blanket with a question mark on it. Then present this to her in a frame. To help with morning sickness, Always, Always, Always, keep saltine crackers nearby or even the soup crackers work well. I always kept a tin on my desk and it really was a life saver.
