| Mom accused of neglect after leaving girl on I-80 what the HECK?? http://www.journalstar.com/articles...1c066011420.txt Mom accused of neglect after leaving girl on I-80 By the Lincoln Journal Star Monday, Apr 16, 2007 - 12:15:31 pm CDT A soccer mom, upset at her teenage daughter?s performance at a game Saturday, stopped along Interstate 80 and left her there. Officer Katherine Finnell said the 42-year-old Lincoln woman was ticketed on suspicion of child neglect after the 2:30 p.m. incident. She said the woman yelled at her 15-year-old in her car and asked her to repeat lines about improving her performance. When the girl messed up the lines, she slapped her. Finnell said the teen told her mom to pull over along I-80 near the downtown exit, so she did. That?s when the girl says her mom yelled at her to get out. She did and her mom drove away. A teammate?s parent saw the girl and took her to their home, where they called police. The Journal Star has elected not to run the mother?s or teenager?s names in an effort to protect the victim. |

| How would she have dealt with it if something had happened to her daughter after leaving her there? I can and do get VERY angry in the heat of a moment but I could never put my child in danger. However, it would be one lonnnnngggg ride home with my son listening to me spit and sputter the whole way. |

| thats a mother? she must have no love respect and care for her daughter to leave her there. you know i was leaving a store the other day and i was walking to the tahoe and i seen a lady looking back and saying come one ok well then bye and kept walking and literally went inside the store and as i turned the littel cement curb i seen a little boy stnading at the back of a truck just crying and yelling and screaming becuase he thought his mom was still there and the mom had walked off into the store and i was like ok so what do i do so i waited and i out my bags in the car and my twins ask why the baby is crying and i said he was sad cause his mom left him there and then they said sad and trouble i guess and then the little boys older brother who was maybe like 7 since thiskid was like 4 maybe 5 and starts to drag him inside and im just like i cannot believ that this woman just walked off into the store and this kid was left crying right outside his truck and i was like what if he tried to run after his mom and i was backing out or someone was pulling in and hit him, or what if he got kidnapped? i mean how long would it be till she missed him till she went back for him, she shouldnt have even walked off, my kids have never gotten left but when they try and thats been once i grab them by the arm and drag not drag like head hitting the ground and draggign their feet but i get their arm or hand i hold it and they know to walk and they do and then they get into the cart becuase i am the parent and i care enough to decipline them, but i just cant belive that some parents are like that what does she think that the girl was 15 that she could defend herself, walk home, predict the future as to say she wouldnt get into trouble? i mean its so damn sad, that poor girl

| Oh my, It shows what this world is coming to. I have wanted to put mine out of the car BUT I KNEW BETTER I would never been able to forgive myself so now we just turn the radio on my son is 17. teenager now days are diff from when we were teenager. The so called mother needs a good kick in the butt and go to jail for a long time. Good thing a parnet saw this and pick the child up and called the cops. Just the thoughts of this make me mad, what the hell was she thinking is sports more in imporant than her child I think not. Grrrrrrrrrrrr
