| ![]() Has anyone bought a ring off of Blue Nile? www.bluenile.com We have been looking at rings, and have heard good things about it, but I wanted to hear from someone personally not just reviews online. You get to build your own ring and pick your own diamond (they have tons, you can pick the clarity, price, etc) Just wondering.... Thanks!! Danielle

| ![]() I don't have any experience with Blue Nile but you can do the same thing with a local jeweler. Also, some repair places have a jeweler who will purchase diamonds for you to look at and then design/build your ring for you. That's how my husband had my ring made and I love it...unless someone copies it you'll never see another one like mine. |

I bought my daughter diamond studs for her 21st BD and they are beautiful.... the only reason why I didnt buy from them is OS had a special online sale during the itme I was looking... Good Luck! d

| ![]() My husband also designed my ring and had a local jeweler make it. We told him what quality of diamond we were looking for and how much we wanted to spend. He went out and got a bunch of diamonds that were in our price range and quality and hubby and I picked the ones we wanted for my rings ![]() ![]() I agree with everyone else, go for quality, not size. If you can do both, then great, but if not, go for quality. If you decide to trade up, this will be a much better investment.

| ![]() Here's another thought...popular or not...but pawn shops are a great place to shop for diamonds. You aren't limited to what's in the case either...they melt jewelry down for scrap all the time so they usually have some loose stones around. When you put a diamond on your finger it's already millions of years old so it's not 'new' and you might be surprised to learn that insurance companies and jewelers shop for stones at pawn shops all the time. |

| ![]() Congrats on your up coming wedding. When looking for a diamond I would go for quality in lieu of size. Bigger is not always better. Also, please ask if the diamond is a "blood diamond" (the movie is some what very true), most good jewelers know where there diamonds come from. Also, antique stores sometimes have really nice pieces with really cool historys. |

| ![]() I understand about the diamond thing too...Since we were in college, I told my husband we could just do bands, I didn't care! My parents, aunts, uncles, cousins did just bands (I think it has something to do with our old Spanish customs, not sure) but he wouldn't have it. LOL! Anyway, I've looked at that website you mentioned before and always liked it...But I know what you mean...It's scary to order online. Do they have a return policy? If so, just get the setting and see if it's acceptable to you. If it's not, return it ![]() By the way, congratulations on your engagement!!! When's the big day?
