| Scrapbooking! Okay guys! I need some tips from all you scrapbookers. I just recently started scrapbooking and I went to the Arts and Crafts store today to buy some pretty paper, so of those cool "stickers" (is there a term from these?), some crafty edge scissors, double-sided tape and I have a buncha photos. The question is.. how do I get started?? Do I just leave it up to my imagination? Is there a way to go about doing things? I looked through scrapbooking books at the store and there were some reallllllllly pretty pages! They used thread and all sorts of stuff. I saw at the craft store that there are things that look like silver thumbtacks, but instead they clip onto the back of the paper. I don't know if that makes sense. I think it's called either "eyelets" or "brads". What's that for? I'm so anxious to start, I just don't know how! lol HELP! eek Last edited by natalie; 05-27-2005 at 04:30 PM. |

| I too have a hard time thinking of neat ideas to do. I kinda look at others then go from there. I gett my pictures out and put them on the page and see what fits where. My mom has all that kind of stuff. I will ask her what the eyelet things are for. I know the brad things for when she cuts out flowers and puts them on the pag she uses them to stick them on there being the middle of the flower just to decorate. Sorry I am not much help to you. But good luck. You are very creative, you made me the background for my computer.

| hello i first got alot of my ideas from other peoples scrapbooks, on t.v., qvc has programs all the time and i look at the pages created on there, and idea books. Then after a while you just get the hand of it, and the creative juices start to flow. Eyelets are great, but get a universal eyelet punch it is more but so much more fun in the long run. YOu can use them for decoration?embelishments or to adhere photo's to the page and journaling. Brages are great too, and can be used for the same thing. If you are into stamping you should try a heat gun to start embossing. Embossing is great and so much fun. If you have any questions about whatever just ask. I was overwhelmed at first but it turns out to be so much fun. GOOD LUCK, have fun. I would recommend going to a few scrapbooking parties, I am going to one tomm. You mean new ppl, get ideas, and have fun.
