Exactly! My mother in law is from up there, but she divorced my father in law when my hubby was young, so he grew up down here - when we visit, we end up eating out most of the time because she has no clue how to cook and they never have sweet tea! My hubby hates soda, but sometimes he resorts to it just because the tea doesn't taste right to him when we're up there :D

If anyone wants to know how to make a good southern meal and dessert, just ask me. :D I grew up eating all those wonderful southern dishes.

Man am I hungry.:p All this stuff sounds great! MY personal favorite southern food is country fried steak with gravy & whompum biskits. In case you're wondering what whompum biskits are, well you take em out of the fridge, peel off the label, & whompum on the counter, then cookem.:rolleyes:

Ya' know, the only really Southern thing I haven't heard mentioned is pecan pie! I don't care for it myself, but my sister makes 'em all the time for her family.
