| My heart is broken! My heart is hurting!!! I went to a pet store last night to see their dogs lined up in cages. So I pretended I was going to buy a Yorkie, played with her, asked to see all the paper work. Seen the breeders name, and just as I thought... It was from a puppy mill! It makes me so sick! I just want to buy them all to help them! I can't believe they try and sell them for $2500! But last night I could have gotten her for $1500! WHOA! I bought mine from a reputable breeder for WAY less than that, I even got to see the parents on site, and where they are raised. Sorry, I needed to vent. My heart is just broken over this, I love animals too much for this! WHOSH!

| I know exactly how you feel. I try to avoid pet stores that sell puppies because I always want to pick them up and rescue them. It is puppymill country around here, we've got tons of puppy millers and it is just so sad that this continues to go on every day. You want to save them but at the same time you know that if you do you are taking a chance on getting a really sick puppy plus you free up the room for another puppy from a puppymill to take its place. It is a lose - lose situation. And you know what else bugs me. Is that like you said, the petstores price these puppies so high when you are getting a puppymill puppy who may be really ill. So you are paying alot of money for a poorly bred sick puppy. Yet you can get one for half that price from a good reputable breeder. I don't get it?? Do people not know of breeders or are there never any in the area??

| I don't know. It's so irritating to me. I want to do something so bad!! I am such a sucker, I have lived on a farm my whole life bringing home animals home from shelters and tons of strays. I don't know. I don't know what I can do, but it makes me sick. I can't believe people are in such a hurry to get a pet that they just buy it from there. It's so important to do more research that what people are doing! The girl I talked to was so ignorant and knew nothing about dogs, yet she's supposed to be an "expert" I was shocked! I kinda want to work there just to see what's REALLY going on behind closed doors, but I think I would end up blowing up on someone. I don't think I could take it, it's hard enough to walk in there. Buying a dog (to me) isn't like walking into a store and buying clothes, you can't just try it out in those boxes and then WAY over pay! Sorry, I needed to vent again!
