My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | I want to paint a fake window....need help! I'm thinking of painting a "fake" window on a wall. I have no idea on how. Any ideas? Or anyone know of easy kits? I remember seeing these "things" you transfered on the wll and it looked like someone painted it. Any help would be appreciated as I'm not very crafty in the drawing department! |

No Longer a Member | There are lots of tromp l'oiel stencils out there that take the guess work out of it. There is also wallpaper (even easier)--look at decoratetoday.com for lots of samples. Or, you could get one of those mirrors that looks like a window, complete with shutters and a window box... |

| You want to look for decorative painting instructional books on trompe l'oeil (literally means trick the eye). HEre is an example and you can get thisbook used for as low as $4: http://www.amazon.com/Trompe-LOeil-C.../dp/071531257X I used to teach decorative painting classes. Everyone was always amazed at how simple it can really be. Good books, good brushes, good paints and a little time and you can have yourself a ball!

| I got an old window pane and did curtains. I think it turned out cute. Frank on Trading Space can paint those windows. What kind of background are you thinkin about?

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | I thinking a cute square window...with just an outside background of grass, trees and sky and sun. Now I'm thinking wallpaper ot transfers would be the best bet for me. |

| Breny... thought I would throw another window idea at you (lol) http://www.touchofclasscatalog.com/j...ORY&itemID=897 I was looking into these alternatives when I wanted to add a window or landscape scene on a wall.

| Glad it helps...I saw where someone wanted to hang one over a stone wall so instead of drilling & anchoring a screw into the stone they hung the tapestry from the ceiling from hooks & tiny chains to a wrought iron rod.
