| This story starts out a year ago or so. I'd had this Visa card and very seldom used it because I only charge what I know I can pay off that same month, and at the most, only used it for internet buying. Anyway, I started getting statements with a charge on them...28 cents. I had no idea what that was for, so I just paid it, thinking I must not have gotten the payment sent in time and this was the service fee. The next month, I didn't charge anything on that card, but got a bill for 28 cents. I wasn't going to write a check for that amount, so put 28 cents in an envelope and sent it to them along with a letter asking what the 28 cent charge was for. I got a letter back from them saying they had received my cash payment and to please not send payment in cash again. No answer to my question. Next month comes and yep...another credit card bill for 28 cents. This time I cut up the stink'n credit card and wrote them a letter telling them to cancel immediately and enclosed 33 cents cash...I gave them a nickel extra just to screw up their books. Okay...so this all happened about a year ago and today in the mail I got a letter from them saying: Attached is a refund check for the credit balance on your account. Guess what the check is for...3 cents! Hahahaha...they wrote me a check for $*****.03** Under that amount it says..."Not valid for more than $10,000.00. Wonder where my other two cents is. Good grief!!! ROFLMAO |

| I had something similar happen. I was moving and the town that I was moving too didn't have the same telephone company so I called the one that I had and told them to cancel my service. They did and I got the bill and paid it. 3 months later I get a bill for $.05. I call and they said that this was the amount that was still due on my bill. I argued with the lady about the damn bill since the bill before that said FINAL BILL across the top. Finally I told her to go to hell since she was such a you know what. I also told her that she could go ahead and drop a nickel on my account for the time that she had just wasted of mine being rude since my time wasn't free. I go a few months later to check out a car and they pull my credit report and sure as heck Ameritech is listed on there. The sales guy is a friend of mine so I told him the story. He gave me a copy of the report and I called about it. It was in collections. The guy at the collection agency pulled it up and chuckled. Then he said not to worry about it he would take care of it. A month later I get a letter stating that everything is taken care of. To think a nickel. SHEESH................. |

| LOL that is funny a 3 cent refund. We got a past due notice for the ETR (Electronic Toll Route) for ONE cent. I had written a cheque one cent short. We had already turned in the electronic transponder as we decided not to use the route anymore. Two months later we started getting letters saying it would go in the hands of collectors..hahahah So my husband and I go down to the main office, the girl at the entrance directing people ask us why we are there. The place was crowded and my husband shouts out "I am here to pay off my ONE CENT pass due bill that is going to RUIN my credit rating !!" He was actually holding up the collection warning letter and the penny! We did not have to wait in line and were told the bills, letters were computer generated. He pointed out that how much they paid on postage, paper etc to get back one cent. The staff kept saying how sorry they were while snickering. We should of sent the letter to the local newspaper. The ETR is privately owned now, then it was run by our lovely government.

| I somehow knew I wouldn't be the only who has had to deal with this type thing! I've decided I'm going to give my check to Maddie...to do with as she pleases. I doubt anyone of you will have to ask what she does with it. hahahaha |

| I know it is silly but I cash them. I cashed one for twelve cents. I figure they get enough of my money. I'm sure a lot of people don't cash the checks and it probably adds up to quite a nice sum for the credit card companies.
