| Prayers for my Mom Please / Operation today My Mom goes in to have an Operation 2/20/07 Thats Today. Shes soon to be 83 and She has blockage of arteries for Kidneys to inprove She has to have splints put in. I havent slept well in a few days and poor mommys so scared. Please pray for her. Got this info off the internet to explain it more. Angioplasty and stenting If your renal artery is partially or completely blocked, your physician may recommend a procedure called angioplasty and stenting. To perform this procedure, your physician inserts a catheter through a small puncture site, or sometimes a small incision, and guides it through your blood vessels to your renal artery. The catheter carries a tiny balloon that inflates and deflates, flattening the plaque against the walls of your artery. Next, your physician may insert a tiny metal-mesh tube called a stent in the artery to hold it open. This procedure, when needed, is often performed at the time of angiography |

| YS It will be ok These types of angioplasty are very common anymore. I am confident that she has a wonderful cardiologist and surgeon that will take very good care of her......I know she will do great!!!! But, I also understand her/your apprehension....heck, I was a wreck having gall bladder surgery for crying out loud!!!! God bless |
