I LOVE your pond! I'm from NYC originally and the first time we all saw a bunch of deer on our front lawn we freaked out! I was so excited. Now it's old hat and I hate them because they eat all my flowers in the summer.

I am an army brat so I grew up in military housing, too, and I know what you're saying about the houses being the same. We had some really nice houses - but having a dad that was the commanding officer in the 18th Airborne probably helped, lol. We lived in Germany for 3 years and that house was the nicest. Right now I am renting my Ghetto Chateau which doesn't even deserve to be posted on here. There are some awesome houses, tho.

Here's a few pic's where I live. We have been laying wood floors since last Friday so I need to get caught up on Y/T. Every muscle in my body is hurting. We just finished the living/dining area last night. We still have the kitchen & hallways to go. Very labor intensive, but I think it will be worth it. Here's a picture showing the slow progress.

The deer don't mess with my flower beds!! What you do is when you are at the beauty/barber shop- ask for some of the hair clippings and they will gladly bag them up for you. Then you just place small clumps of it throughout your flower garden. NO DEER. We plant some mall fruit trees and to keep the deer from destroying them, I took small sandwich bags and put some hair clippings in it and hung it on the tree and they never bothered it.
