Angie, I am hearing so many different reasons as to what can trigger it, it's crazy.

| I'm sending prayers your way. I'm an ICU nurse and if you want to PM me with any questions or interpretations of what the doctors are telling you please don't hesitate. I'll give you my phone number if you'd like. Please try to get help from friends and neighbors to take care of your other responsibilities (puppies ect). Give it a few days and a few xrays to see if the pneumo closes. They usually do so with the chest tube. Leslie. |

| Our cousin went through this also... My cousin, well by marriage he's my husbands cousin, has had this happen more than once. In his case the only explaination they can come up with is because he is so tall and slender, he has been in intensive care a couple of times with it. He has just recently had surgery to repair a hole and to suture the lung on oneside to the chest wall so that side cannot collapse again. He is doing very well now, he may have to have the otherside done at some point in the future as well, but no one knows exactly what has caused this and like you said it happens to such a small percentage of people. It is very scary and I hope you daughter is doing much better, I haven't read any but your first post so I will go back now and look for an update! Just wanted to let you know someone else has gone through this and is ok now |
