It depends on your school district I guess that wasn't the case with the philadelphia school district Mac's were preferred not cheaper. In college the design schools had mac's in the lab the business school had pc's. Your choice is based on your preference and your need.

Also there were mounds of donated PCs in poor schools building up throughout the city because there wasn't anyone to work on them. Macintosh was the computer platform of choice for the school district. The CPKP was the first program that got PCs directly into the homes of needy families. 4000 kids have received PCs and Windows training from our program. Because of our success we have become a model for many copycat programs throughout the USA.

No arguments here - just pointing out that while you couldn't wait to get a Mac out of your house, I couldn't wait to get a PC out of my house. Similarly, while you think Windows is easier to operate, OMG! I do NOT.

Get the Apple! I have a powerbook G4 and I LOVE it! My sister had a Dell laptop and she hated it....only gave her problems. If you're not used to Mac it'll take a while for you to get the hang of it, but once you do you'll never go back; they're SO user friendly....plus, they're pretty I'm saving up all my pennies to get a new macbook! Good luck with whatever you choose
