I went on about 10:30 and had a white sceen with numbers I could hear but couldn't see either.

I can see the videos fine - but never hear sound - are you guys getting sound too ?

I am getting sound. But right now I don't see anything going on. Last night I saw a herd of animals and got sound too. This is really cool.

Are you using windows media player - or some other kind of media player? If so, there is usually a sound button on the player that needs to be turned up as well as the sound on your own computer turned up.

It's night there now and I'm seeing things that look like shooting stars, except they are flying up and over and around so they must be some kind of bird or insect.

Oh, and V, if you get the sound fixed keep it turned low, the noise can be deafening!!!

There is a thunderstorm there now and I just watched some kind of animal lurking around but he left. He was dark with a large bushy white tail. Bigger than a fox and the entire tail was white. The storm is awesome.

I fixed all my sound except for africam - I have sound for everything else but that one site...rats

Man, I was away for a weekend and I forgot about Africam! I can't believe it!! I'm setting a reminder to watch it tomorrow!

I had to ask the Africam regulars - they are birds called nightjars and they are chasing insects.

Wow, thanks! It was pretty surreal looking!

So far I've seen the nightjars, one elephant, and some sort of deer-like creature (it was really far away, so hard to tell). I just have the worst timing!!!

No! You don't have bad timing!!! It just turns daylight there when it is 10:00PM your time and then it gets dark there at about 12:00noon our time - so we miss so much of their daylight time when it is best to see the animals.

It's not OUR timing - it's this darned round earth! :)

Thanks to this thread my audio is now FIXED - I was so frustrated not hearing sounds I spend a few hours doing 'driver' stuff and YAY I can hear Africam now !! how nice to be frustrated BUT satisfied:D

There are hyenas playing in the water right now - of course it is night over there, so no closeups - but they are really having a great time.

I watched for a bit while it was nite and the nightjars were all over! They were looping and circling and there was thunder in the background. I could see them come out of the trees and go back in and even fly right in front of the camera. I tried to stop the pic when one was close to see if I could see what it looked like, but they were too fast - just a large bright streak.
