| Kidney stones cut short my vacation in Florida several years ago. The pain is intense. Oddly, I never knew when I passed them, it was when they were hung up trying to get out of my kidney that I had the most pain. Good luck!!!

| I had two...one was small and passes. As it passed you felt the pain moving. They say when it pains that means its trying to move. I had alot of blood and pure pain. Way worse than child bearing. I was on the floor crying my eyes out. The second one was even worse...had to have surgery. I liked the surgery and pain meds much better...lol Make sure and drink lots of water after it passes, stay away from caffine and peanut type stuff. There is a whole list of foods to avoid but I forget them. Man... I feel for you. With my second one they said it would pass too, but the pain was sooooooo terrrible that I went back to the er and the next morning they took it out. Good Luck...I'll pray for you! |

| I am home now......and a break in the pain...hubby bought me a beer, since that makes you pee.......and I don't drink beer normally......well, it only made me sleepy......but, stone must have shifted....so I am having a break for a few minutes.... I drove home from Knoxville to Nashville....praying the whole way that it would quit hurting...LOL........I am really nervous that the pain will return....and I am SURE it will..... My friend just passed two at Halloween...she said Toradol was what the doc prescribed and it was great and she passed them herself....so, off to the doc in the morning.....I am so nervous that the pain will come back tonight when the doc is closed...... Thanks for the well wishes.....I think I will go lay down.... |

Sometimes they just stop where they are and don't move again for a long time or ever. It they are tiny enough, you may not know exactly when it passes, but in a short amount of time you will begin to feel relief. I've had 3 surgeries, 10 lithotripsies, and still have 18 stones that can be seen on the xrays. I'm sorry you are having to endure this. I know it is really tough. Childbirth, I'd rather have 3 or 4 in a row instead of this pain. I wish you good luck and a quick resolution. I'll send up a prayer for you. When it is over, you are going to need to rest for awhile to get your strength back. | |
