| I'm not getting the lightning storm but am getting the sleet. I'm tired of it already. This makes day 3 of sleet. It's down right cold here. If it weren't icy I'd have to make a trip somewhere south were it is warmer. I hope things improve by Tuesday. I have to get out that day and I refuse to drive in any type of bad weather.

| Muskogee and Checotah have been the hardest hit so far. The power grid seems to be on the ground in those areas. Here is a link to the system watch that the electric company has: http://oge.com/systemwatch/ If you click on system watch it will show the areas with out power. I keep an eye on it so I can kind of tell when my DH will be home. Right now it looks like it may take a week to get it all back up. Quote:

| Curl up with a good book, a bunch of blankets and your puppys. Let the kids go outside sleding and enjoy it. They say that this is going to be a bad summer. We can think back on it when we are sweating from the heat. Quote:

We're still getting mostly rain at this point, but it's supposed to get really cold tonight, so ice-skating tomorrow. Yuck! CJ

| I wish we had snow. I love snow only if we are stuck for 2-3 days so I wouldn't have to go to work |

| Yes, it was Katy! She went out with me. She is usually pretty good about going out in all types of weather. We like to put lawn chairs at the edge of the garage and weather watch. So she is used to it. Quote:

Hey Villette..... I'm just coming back to this thread and saw that you posted this last night. I'm sure it's colder there now but what was funny is that from our hill in Brenham, I can see the lightening all the way in Houston. The weather obviously came through Brenham first because at the time you were saying it was 80 degrees there, it was below 40 here (just an hour or so away). It's cool seeing the lightening and stuff all the way in Houston from our house. We actually got (at least) two pretty severe rounds here. Just when I thought the lightening was far enough away for us to go back to our movie on tv, I looked and saw it cuttin' up in your direction. Then it started up hard and crazy again here, cutting out all satellite signals. Had to go to bed at 9:45 and read a book!

| Hey, Villette..... that's really weird. I just checked weather.com and it says that our temp. is 37 with a wind chill of 29 but that Houston is still 71 degrees!! What's up with that?? Did it ever get cold with what blew in last night? We dumped 4 inches out of our rain gauge early in the evening and then it filled up another 4 inches after that so we got AT LEAST 8! And it's cold but I was wondering when it was going to ice like the weather people keep saying. Now I learn that Houston (an hour or so from here) is not even cold?? Really weird!

| I don't want to leave to go to work!! Sounds like the roads are pretty bad. There's some steps right outside my apt & they're frozen over. I don't need to walk in that kind of stuff either. The LAST thing I need is to slip and fall.

| Well, it's cold here!!!! It's 27 degrees in my garage that attached to the house and insulated. I can only imagine how cold it really is outside and with the wind chill too. Burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr the dogs don't want to go out (and I can't blame them) and my hot water is cold! I don't think I will go anywhere today unless they start clearing some roads off!
