Congrats! The NCLEX is not so bad. These tests test your ability to take tests more than they test your knowledge about nursing. Hang in there and let us know how it goes!

Aww, thank you so much! I NEED all the emotional support I can get. Our school just started HESI exit examinations and I am on an emotional rollercoaster...........but I know it's for the better.

Can't wait to finish.........nursing school is no joke......

Don't stress too much over the NCLEX. It seems so intimidating, but really it's not too bad. The nerves are what make it so difficult. Just go with what you know. I took my CNOR exam (cert. for OR nursing) a couple of years ago and it was much worse than the NCLEX.

12 years a LPN and all of it working in Dialysis.
PS... Good Luck with the NCLEX! I am weird, I love taking tests and this one was a blast!

I plan on taking a Kaplan preperation course too.........I am just paranoid. What do you recommend to use to study for it?

I took a review course too. I seemed to help allot. Of course, I went to it with several of my class mates....soooo I spent some of the time sleeping

They can be long and boring...but really helpful on how to take the test. They explain how to read the question..how to evaluate the answers and pick the best one...along with brushing up on areas you may have forgotten.

Awesome! I am worried of wasting 500 bucks just like that

BUT, I think it will be for the better. They don't recommend us taking it with buddies/classmates..........it's good to learn from other student's from other schools

What review book do you recommend?

OMG it's been so long. I think I bought one and others bought the others and we just traded around. We had study groups and took turns asking questions out of the books and discussing the answers. It always is easier for me to know the whole answer (an example) than just memorizing answers.
The questions were more on nursing process than straight quest/anw. Like 'what would you do first' and then all of the answers are good. But remember ABCs. Like that....
Don't be intimidated...and if you ever are...go to a hospital and look at some of the people...if they can do it...you can too
