Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I was MEANT to wear this ring. Wow. This morning the beautiful emerald fell out of my ring right into the sin...I grabbed it and saved it ! It could have fallen out anywhere and it actually fell right before my eyes - how lucky is that ?? This is the last piece of expensive jewlery I have left we sold all my rings and gold to help pay medical bills. all of it is gone and I had some really nice stuff But this ring is the FIRST ring my husband ever bought me & I refused to sell it how lucky for me that the stone landed 3 CENTIMETERS from my sink and I actually saw it fall ??? I've never lost any jewlery - one time I left diamond earrings in my wallet that I THEN Left on my car one day looking for my keys - I drove off and my wallet was gone for good.... I thought - A month later a guy collecting cans found it and gave it to the cops - WITH my diamonds still there. The cops personally delivered my wallet to me after finding my pictures and drivers license - Anyone else have a lucky or bad story about Jewlery ?? |

| hmmm.... unlucky story.. but my own fault.... Before Hubby and I were married on one of my birthdays he gave me a promise ring.. It's a tradition in my family... this ring signifies that you will promise to love this person and stand by them and understand them no matter what happens... So he put this on my finger and later proposed.. Anyhow.. One night we went out with some friends and there was this girl that was one of his good friends, she kept trying to come on to my then boyfriend now hubby ... we ended up getting into this huge fight I threw my ring at him in the car and it was never found..... like it said it was my fault but I was soo upset at myself for doing this.... I looked for this diamond ring forever... never to be found..... the things we women do out of anger.... ahhh... |

| I had my 2 caret ingagment ring for just about 3 months when one morning i woke up and ran my fingers through my hair when it cought and pulled my hair,i looked down and the stone was gone!We searched the bedroom for 3 day's and all over the house and never found the stone.Luckly we had bought it from kay jewlers and it was garanteed.I got the stone replaced free of charge. That was just about 5 years ago.2 months ago i was sitting in my daughters room which was once our room and i seen something sparkle on the floor and it was a big diamond stone. At first i thought that it was from my daughters costume jewlery but i kept it just in case.I took it to the jewlers and sure enough it was my engagment stone! After all the vaccuming and stuff how in the world could it just be in the middle of the floor?Needless to say i never told kay jewlers that i found my old stone and am thinking about a nice pair of diamond earings seeings how i'll only have to purchase one stone now.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | OH WOW .....We Do have stories lol - I have another - I made my wedding rings myself when I married my first husband - they were so special and really heavy - he was playing frisbee and his ring flew off ......we even got metal detectors to help find it but never did I have never seen a man cry over losing a ring ....but he was SO torn up at the time. He told me recently he still looks for that ring all these years later when he's at the beach (where he lost it) |

| I have a topaz ring my mom gave me for my birthday and I was on my first trip with my kids alone at the beach (my mom always went with us and she had passed not to long ago) anyway I was on the beach and look down and the stone is missing from my ring. I am frantic looking around and eventually give up as I will never see that again. So I put the ring away and I go get in the shower at our room and I look down thinking there are shells in the drain and low and behold it was my stone!! YIPPIE so I carefully tucked it away with my ring and get it fixed asap when we get home!! V-glad you seen it fall!! I know what your going trough a blessing indeed

| Not a jewelry story -- but a lost wallet story..... My son went surfing one day and forgot he had his wallet in the pocket of his shorts. Sure enough, he lost it. A month later, we got a call from a hotel on the beach. One of their guests had found it washed up on the beach and turned it in. It still had his $$ and ID in it. lol

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Villette - glad to know you did see it before........!!!! My wedding set has one large stone and six smaller diamonds. I've lost a couple of the smaller stones, which although was sad, wasn't expensive to replace. I worked nights at a local bank, had to use computer terminals in several different areas to process that days work, so I was all over the place. One evening I noticed my larger stone had fallen out, I was SICK!!! Had no idea when or where that day I could have lost it. I somewhat looked around as I went back and forth but didn't expect to see anything. My final job every night was to print off the days reports. As I was changing out printer forms - I spotted something shiny laying on the floor just under the edge of the huge printer. Thankfully - it was my diamond. Since that episode I do periodically have my ring setting checked at our jewelers. And, there have been 2 repairs that had to be made. I guess 26 years of wearing it takes it toll.

| Villette .... I am soooo happy you didn't lose your emerald!! You are one lucky girl. Here's a funny one! Patrick and I went to the mountains on our honeymoon ... stayed in a gorgeous "cabin" with a giant fireplace, etc., etc. It rained and it was very cozy. The day after we arrived, suddenly Patrick was running around looking for something frantically ... yep, his wedding band was missing! It should have been very easy to find as we had those wide matching bands. We took the place apart and looked for hours. We finally sat down in front of the fire .... the fire???? When he first built the fire, the wood was damp and he really had a hard time getting it to burn so we had wadded up paper and threw it in the fireplace. We let the fire die and when he dug through the coals ... there it was! When we got back home, he took it and had it cleaned and polished and it was as beautiful as the day we bought it! We laughed and talked about how we would tell our grandchildren about Papa's new tradition of throwing your wedding bands in the fire .... "trial by fire"!! [BTW .... mine has never, ever been off my finger since the day he put it there. When he buys me diamonds he knows they have to go with my band because I will never take it off!! ]

| I lost one of my diamond earrings while getting my hair cut in Florida, I called the salon and the lady actually went through everything that was swept up at her station and found my earring that night. My husband said I would never get it back and he was shocked when she called. Recently we gutted our bathroom to remodel it and we were going to send all of the old cabinets to the dump but instead our contrractor said he would take them so he put them in storage to use later. Well, I 'used' to put my jewelry on the bottom shelf of the wall cabinet when I took it off. When I emptied the cabinets I was careful to get my jewelry and put it up but somehow I overlooked my new diamond earrings. My husband had just bought them for my birthday, they are 3/4 carats each so they aren't really small. Anyway, we looked everywhere and I even told my husband if he had them to 'teach me a lesson' he better just give them up or else! In desperation I called our contractor and asked him to check the cabinets...about a week later he called and said he had my earrings. I was thrilled and, of course, my husband was shocked! Villette, I have a beautiful, custom made, emerald/diamond ring too...emerald is my birthstone. My husband bought it for me years ago...I would really be upset if something happened to it. My daughter and daughter-in-law both want it 'someday' so I'm thinking of having 2 more made just like it so they'll leave mine alone! |
