So what are you having for Christmas Dinner? Just wondering what you are having for Christmas Eve Dinner? :) |
we go to myinlaws were having...chili, tater soup and hot turkey sandwiches. I am making ham and all the trimmings on Christmas Day! |
I usually cook a huge dinner on Xmas eve and then from then on we eat leftovers and go to other folks houses the following day if we feel up to it: My menu Ham (pineapple/molasses glazed) Baked old fashioned Macaroni and Cheese Corn Bread Biscuits Baked Chicken (family is not a big turkey eater) Mashed Potatos Lasagna or Manicotti w/ meat Scalloped Potatos Potato salad Those are usually the base things and then whatever else my kids and younger sisters decided that they want to eat. |
Mexican style ham, green spaguetti, a green salad, mashed potatoes, green salsa and red salsa, sausage in chipotle sauce and my in laws are bringing dessert. Tha should be plenty for the four of us. |
This year, we are having a more traditional meal - ham, dressing, mashed potatoes w/ gravy, sweet potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, etc. Pies: coconut cream, chocolate, apple, etc. Last year, we did cornish hens and the year before that we did steaks....we always try to do something alittle different each year. |
we used to have tamales.. but my mom is super sick this year and I am not sure I can pull that off...lol.. so I am looking for ideas.. |

Since my mom moved down here close to me, we've had Christmas Eve dinner at my house. On the menu this year... Glazed Ham Fried Turkey Stuffing Corn Greenbean Casserole Candied Yams Mashed Potatoes (or butter potatoes) Homemade Rolls Dessert: Red Velvet Cake, Pumpkin Pie, Apple Pie and maybe Buttermilk Pie |
We're having gumbo and potato salad. |
I am making chicken tamales and champurrado(mexican chocolate drink):D I am also making mexican rice and beans, salsa of course:D For dessert I am making cheesecake flan;) |
Chicken Tamales here also! We tried making them once....LOL....never again. There's a nice lady that sells them this time of year and it's well worth paying her to make them! |
We are having 18 for dinner. I'm thinking of throwing a few cans of Chicken Noodle soup on the table, and calling it a dinner. Ok, I might use a bowl.......... |

Ha that was good. With that many people maybe you want to do somewhat of a potluck. That is such a big grocery bill to handle too. For turkey day I had 11 and man talk about work and the expense. If I were you I would be making a dinner reservation :D |
