Oh yeah, they KNOW it's for them! It's blue, and the one they wanted, it doesn't matter what I say. LOL All their cousins have one, so there's no holding for anybody that doesn't already have one. They talk about wanting one almost every day. Now that they know there is one in the shed, I just don't know if I can hold out. They are off school the next 5 weeks, the begging has already begun. LOL |
Jeanie K- ROFL, I hope you were serious on that! ;) I LOVE keeping things a suprise. I suprise everyone I know w/ gifts, it brings me such joy to do! And if the gig is up, I always manage to find a way around it. Make them doubt again and then- BAM...they love it almost as much as I do as long as it's tastefully done. Also, giving gifts at unexpected times. Not waiting 'till a birthday or holiday to give a gift is something I truely enjoy. The only people I wasn't going to suprise were my parents regarding the pregnancy. I called my mom and dad the day I found out while I was still in Arizona. |

There off school for 5 WEEKS NOW? Good Lord!! Its not even Christmas break.Whats the deal? |
Tell them they can't ride it until they've got the proper gear! See what they say then...maybe you'll be able to afford those things by the time Chirstmas comes around? Seriously, the helmets and goggles if nothing else. And for pads, just get knee pucks from your local sports store and the same w/ the gloves. I used my motorcycle gloves that I ride my sportsbike w/. I think a set (helmet and goggles) cost $89.99 on E-bay and that was the "Buy it Now" price. If you could, I'd go to the store that you bought the 4-wheeler from and start fitting them w/ helmets and find out what size they are and brand and then go shopping on e-bay. Just my two cents. It's great you were able to get them the four wheeler! I'm sure you're proud of yourself...how exciting!!! :D |
They do have a helmet already and some hand me down things from their cousins. My brothers and my husband and a lot of the kids in the family are very active in riding so we're good on most those things. But I think I'll get them some sort of cool riding shirt, they'll like that. |
My kids go year around here. Lots of California schools do, is that not common everywhere else? We have four "tracks" that have different months off and on from attending school. My kids' last day is monday and then they go back on January 3. Three other tracks are still in school at this time. |

Hi Jodi, I am sorry that your kids found their present. I really truly know the feeling. Try not to be too terribly disappointed though just make the most of it. Be creative and turn the next five weeks into a "non" stop Christmas season of lots of family time on the 4- wheeler. Your entire family will make so many lasting memories -- instead of having only the week AFTER Christmas to enjoy the 4-wheeler, they will have 5 weeks. You can preserve Santa Clause, you know, that dude is terribly overworked and sometimes he just needs a little helping hand from Mom's and Dads when really BIG presents are involved. |

Give it to them now!:D The surprise isn't ruined. The surprise just came early. |
LOL! We did that to my God daughter, Jessie, when she was about 3. We were wrapping her presents and kept telling her they were for my niece, Elizabeth. So, on Christmas morning when Jessie unwrapped her presents she'd step back, shake her head no, point to the present and say 'no, that's for Bizbeth!' We had a hard time convincing her they were really hers! I say lie to them and make them wait...it serves them right for snooping and next time...post a bigger spider at the shed door! ;) Quote:

We were not going to give credit to Santa for the 4 wheeler, we worked too hard saving for this thing. LOL Besides we don't want to encourage them asking Santa for something as expensive next year! LOL Santa is giving them each a playstation game that they really want and maybe another cheap thing or two. My oldest is on the cuff of believing in santa anyway. He wanted to know if there really was a santa, why are there so many people hungry and without homes. And why are we donating a toy to the salvation army for a child who may not receive any, won't santa give them one? |
Here in Kansas we start around aug 26th and get out May 24 -25...only get 3 days off for thanksgiving and than theyll get like a 1.5 week for Christmas break! |
