SHowing my age..UGH...SKin creams? Ill be 40 this March and the last couple yrs I have really started to show my age! I use lotion on my face everyday but its nothing special. My skin just looks washed out and dull. Anyone use any of the anti wrinkle creams for fine lines and do they actually work! I saw an informerical.........LOL............on natural advantage......anyone use that? I dont spend much money on myself, but I would consider something a little pricey if it meant it was simple without a bunch of steps and it works!!:) |
i know the feeling girlfriend .. im right there with you... i use any cream with..alpha hydroxy, it works.... i also have the temporary wrinkle cream, it does work, but i hardly use that....i just make sure i use cream at nighttime and in the morning... everyday.. |
You should go see a dermatologist. You would be so surprised how many non-invasive procedures they have out now for wrinkles. And sooo many prescription creams. You said you never spend any money on yourself....pamper yourself by going to a dermotologist and get some work done. That is what I would do. :) I am 23 years old, but the cream I use for acne also works wonders to prevent and correct wrinkles. It is called Retin-A. Many older women who obviously don't have acne use this stuff because of the wonders it does on wrinkles. It is only available by a prescription, though. You should look into it. |
I've been using Retin-A and man what a difference ...Also - Carolyn - brutus'mama sells Arbonne products that are outstanding ...I alternate the 2 and I've totally changed my skin.... I hit 48 and man did my whole body change but my face and makeup is so so much better now with these 2 products. Avon anew is a good product line too but I prefer the prescription strength of the Retin-A - but there is NO going in the sun when you use it. hahahaha REBECCA - I just saw your post on Retin-A and you're only 23 ??? You're a baby - what are you using that on your face for girl - you don't know what a wrinkle is !!! hahahaha man - 23 ??? you just left puberty lol |
im sure you look as beautiful as ever. your only 40 years old.. dont start with all that cosmetic stuff.. im sure you dont need it..... just us the retin a.. cream like rebecca said, it does work, just have to be consistant with it.... |

I use Serious Skin Care sold at HSN and I love all their lines. I rotate the Vitamin A and C lines. You can check them out on their website. |
Thanks!:) Ill look into these products! I am very fair skinned and Ive noticed some tiny red capillaries broke across my cheek bones causing not alot but some redness. EIther sun damage or other, Ive had it for awhile, it doesnt seem to be getting worse but my skin definitely needs some help!!! |

You are right! I did just leave puberty! And that is why I use Retin-A....because I still have ACNE!!!!!!!! :p :p :p But the fact that it prevents and corrects wrinkles is all the more reason for me to use the stuff, right?! But you are absolutely right...NO GOING IN THE SUN!!!!!!! But, if you are trying to correct wrinkles, no matter what cream you are using, you should not be in the sun. That is what CAUSES wrinkles for goodness sake! :p :p :p But seriously, I'm 23 years old, but most people think that I'm not old enough to drive. I'm not kidding either. I think it is because of the Retin-A. It does WONDERS for your skin. My face seriously feels like a baby's butt. My hubby loves to rub his hands on my face because it is so incredibly soft and supple. I love the stuff and will ALWAYS use it! Yeah, I may look 15 now, but when I'm 50, I'm sure I'll appreciate it! ;) |
wow 15!!!! thats great.... i wish |

What you are describing is rosacea. You should seriously consider going to a dermatologist bc if you don't treat those red marks now, they will become worse, to the point where the only thing that will get rid of them is a laser. You don't want that. Luckily, Retin-A is also prescribed for rosacea!!!!!! Nip that in the bud early so you don't have to go through so much later. My friend is having to get her rosacea lasered off next week. She is not excited about it. |

in my head I'm still 23 :p :p but after looking at that picture I see I need a PUSH UP BRA   lol I'm STILL working on 10 lbs - I fell off the diet wagon and want to be Back in my old jeans but that just doesn't look like it's gonna happen...so...I'll probably have a bucketload of 3's and 5's to sell soon. and yes - my skin CHANGE Drastically when I got the Retin A and the Arbonne product from Carolyn - I won't ever use anything else. and Rebecca - I lived on the beach - was in the sun my whole life - I used to be a swimmer - AAU and all that - Diving too - and believe me - I AM scared of sun damage but so far so good. |
WOW you do look great Villette! |

I grew up at the beach, too. There every weekend during the school year and practically lived there during the summers. I used to get so black that people would think that I was bi-racial. I'm not kidding either. Luckily I have olive skin, so maybe my skin took the beating better than a blonde-haired blued-eyed girl would. But still, I'm nervous to see what the effects on my skin will be. I'm trying to have some damage control by using the Retin-A. And NO MORE SUN for me!!!!! I tanned the few months before my wedding, but that was it. That was the last time I'll get into the sun without some major protection on. |
I sell Arbonne. When I get home tonight and can resize some pics, I'll post some amazing before/afters that I have. |

when I get in the sun - my friends call me The Mexican in the Fright Wig ....... NICE huh ??? Actually I named my own self and it stuck - and no I don't wear a wig but the sun sure can do that to your hair..... My skin turns dark brown - my hair WHITE..I have pictures but will NEVER Show those to anyone lol...but I spent YEARS doing that - I hope it doesn't bite me in the butt too - I figure I'd see the damage by now .....but girl - I'll tell you - when you get to be my age - it's not your skin that hurts its HORMONES - man oh man - that's a whole different subject |

I'm the true deffinaition of a WHITE girl! LOL! All though, in my younger years I layed out in the sun ALL DAY. Since my mom has been diagnosed with skin cancer and has lost one of her fingers to it because it was to the bone, and has to go every 3 months for a whole body check (she just had seven more spots removed this week) and she has more spots that have to be removed every time she goes :( But anyways....since she has been battling this I woke up and have stayed out of the sun for 3 years now. We even have a pool but I manage to stay a white girl :) I've discovered self tanners. I never thought I'd be worrying about my skin, but as time goes on you find yourself more concerned about wrinkles and skin cancer, rather than looking hot in those daisy dukes! Where do you purchase your Rentin-A? |

I feel the same way. I would rather look good with no wrinkles when I'm older than to bake myself now. You can only get Retin-A through a prescription from your dermotologist. |
2 Attachment(s) OK, guys...here are the pics from a before/after from our Arbonne Anti-aging kit. I don't actually know this lady, but I know someone that does. Here's the story behind it..... "I met Holly when I was vacationing. I asked Holly's mom if she would use the Arbonne RE9. She wasn't too interested in using the product because her skin was so damaged but agreed to help her daughter out. Holly decided to apply product to one side of her mother's face. Take a look at her pictures and feel free to share. When people say it is too late because they are too old. This may get them to think again." Here's the pictures: |
I've been using Arbonne for over a year now and my skin has never been better! I use the whole RE9 anti-aging line and I love it! I offer my discount of 35% too! :) Quote:

Is it gentle? What ingredients are in it? What products come in the "kit"? |
Yes, it's gentle. I can send you a list of ingredients if you want. I've just started using the anti aging kit myself. I was using the acne kit which was VERY gentle. It compares to Proactive, but I couldn't use that myself, because it made my skin raw. I had no reaction to the Arbonne. |
Villette, you look amazing!! I would use anything you are using bc your complexion is beautiful!!! You are beautiful in the inside and the outside!!! I use LaMer cream and have noticed the difference alot! Also a cream rec by my dermatologist for breakouts and wrinkles called Tazorac. But I would definetely go to a professional for best advise since all skins are different! :) |

I offer a discount to YTers, too. And I'm putting together some awesome baskets for Christmas gifts. There's some special stuff just for Christmas. And I'll do baskets for any of the other products, too. I'm doing the flier for it this week. I'll send it to anyone that's interested. Just PM me. |

If you would like to try a sample of the complete RE9 anti-aging system let me know. The only thing missing in the sample packet is the Transforming Lift which I have to say is my favorite! PM me if you want to try it. |
The best thing you can do for those fine lines is drink plenty of water. Coke Coffee and smoking will all take their toll, and I've done them all. (The Coke that you drink, not the other stuff.) LOL They did a consumer product review on creams and such, and the consumer specialist said that Cetaphil cream is as good as all the speciality creams. I've used it for years. It helps with feet and elbows and any other problem areas. I use it all over after my shower. I'm no where near as gorgeous as Villette, so I won't post my Picture. I have 10 years on her. |
