I would put adds up at all the vets offices near you. You can post found adds there and I would also post adds for loving homes. Also a visit to all the vets in the area might help to find the owner. Possibly she is chipped? I think you will find the best and most responsible pet lovers at vets offices.

I have to say that sometimes I am one for breaking the rules...would your landlord know if she were inside?

I think it's more of a morality thing. I don't think I could ever leave a dog outside, especially a pregnant dog or a dog with babies!

Oh, I totally agree. That's why I would break the rules and have them inside.

Making the fake out hut. and having her in my bedroom with the door shut tight. LOL...... so far she's not much of a barker so maybe will be okay atleast til I can find her something somewhere. we're thinking push comes to shove I'll board her. atleast no cold babies.

It is so great of you to be able to take her in. I think you must have wings!!! Don't forget to send something to the different Vets in the area. I sure hope everything works out for you and the new additions!!!

you oculd put her in a bathroom or kitchen with tile or linelioum floors and put up a baby gate you can get at any walmart then try to find local rescue orginizations post adds at local vets pet stores maybe even freebie papers? good luck and she's so lucky she came to your door i would just love to help all pets like that poor animals!!!

It is sad that no one has claimed her......that might be a good thing though!

I would gladly take her, but I am no where near close to you!!! I can't wait to see pictures!!!

I am sure it is hard to deal w/ her and the babies untop of moving and everything else.........Thank you for taking them time and having the paitence w/ her.

Please keep us posted. I like the idea of placing ads everywhere........I would even see if the shelter has a place where you could post pictures too.

GOOD luck with the new puppies and since you live in chicago...please keep them inside ! Only dogs equipped for winter temps should be outside and for real - no babies - the mom would never be able to keep them all warm...and good luck to you - sounds like you just inherited a cute sweet dog complete with a family. Hopefully you can find good homes for the puppies when they're ready
