But...if he provides a tracking number (which I doubt) will you then have to pay the $25?

| Things like this is exactly why I dispise PayPal!! They are sooo difficult ... don't understand why sellers wouldn't prefer Visa Debit/Credit. They would immediately get their $$$ and it's certainly simpler for the buyer! Good luck!

| Using safe harbor through Ebay should get you some assistance. You should not have to pay to get this resolved. Take him to small claims court if you haved to!

Sounds like he planned to be like this. Worked up really great feedback, then began scamming. Most people woudn't assume someone with good feedback would scam them. I don't blame you for purchasing from him, I think most people would've purchased from him.

They were very quick to help me the one time I did not receive an item within a month. What was weird though, they sent money back to my email account and then I wound up receiving the item like 2 days later! I had to go through more trouble to give the money back than I did to receive it. But I did get it all straightened out and it gave me trust in ebay. I checked and it says you can use it if you have not received an item 10-60 days after purchase. I think that 2nd ebay name was a red flag not to do business with him -- but then everything looks clearer in hindsight.

| Ebay charges $25 for a dispute, paypal never used to(unless they just recently changed it). In fact, they will cover some items up to $1,000. ONLY use a CC to pay with paypal and NEVER use your available funds in there(withdraw them and use a cc). After worrying about not receiving a $2,000 item I bought I read everything on their site. Unless it specifically says it is covered up to $1,000 on the auction... it's not covered at all. You only have 30 days to do a chargeback on their site. Yes, a credit card will protect you, paypal and ebay will not. Lucky for me the seller was honest and I received my item but I about had a heart attack for a day. I always thought paypal was secure but it's not.

| http://www.toolhaus.org/cgi-bin/negs...rn=Received+by Sounds like he has been doing this since 04 I couldn't pull up anything on love_is_a_fist it said invalid ebay id? is it spelled right? The thing with paypal and disputes is if the seller has money in his account you will get your money back if not his account will be frozen and you will get it back once the seller puts money back into that account, I think that is how it works! good luck and i would fight even if it just $3.00 you are owed! Good luck let us know how it goes!!

| About four months ago I went through the same thing. I won an auction on ebay and never received the items. I went through the emails with no replies, I even called the telephone number and talked to the girls mother twice but nothing worked. I eventually filed a dispute with my credit card whom I have set up with paypal. I forget the length of time that she had to respond but she never did and I was credited the amount back by my credit card company. No fees were involved. It's such a shame when certain people have to screw up and give ebay a bad name. Out of about two hundred auctions, that was the only problem I had. My daughter has actually called a seller before and threatened them with court and then she received the item. You should have a contact phone number if you received an invoice. Although it doesn't appear that even a phone call to him would help. Good Luck! |

| SIGHHHHHHHHHH One of the reasons I DON't Ebay anymore is the LAZY non-existant customer service. They rarely do anythng about anything. I once bought a quilt described at excellent condition and it arrived full of large holes and rips. I notified ebay and they said they asked the seller and she said the quilt was in excellent condition when she sent it and I was crazy. Well that was that. Ebay said since SHE said it was fine then it was fine. I asked them what would be my purpose of ripping up a quilt and they ignored me!!!!!

| I just had a similair experience with Ebay. My first one, of never recieivng an item and Ive had hundreds of transactions in the past. I bought my little girl a coat, the total was only around 21.00. I paid by CC immediately. I bought several things so I hadnt noticed it had been 9 days since I made payment. I recieved an email from the seller stating she forgot to send it out, and would sent it tommorrow. I said not a problem. 3 weeks later I still never recieved the coat. SO I emailed her, she left me a message saying she was at her mothers and would check her mail receipts when she got home and call Monday. I said ok. A week later still no contact. So I emailed her and asked for proof of the item being sent by a receipt from the post office. I said if you sent it, I dont want to leave a negative if its the post offices fault. She emailed me back and told me I was very rude (????????) and if I leave a negative, she will leave one too. I asked her what she would leave a negative for me for........paying immediately?? Anyway I went ahead and filed with paypal, but it didnt cost anything. They said it should be resolved in 30days. Last time I checked the resolution site it said refund initiated. |

| Well, heres what i think the problem is. The seller never had any sort of insurance on it. Plus, since i paid through paypal, I can't open a dispute through ebay. I have to do it through paypal.. which i have done.. but to escalate it to the point where they force the seller to pay me a refund, you have to pay $25 for paypal to investigate, and they will investigate (doesnt mean i get a refund, they just look into it).. then if they decide that he does owe me the money, then they make him give me a refund. I know it's so confusing. Someone asked about his ebay name.. one is inactive and one is suspended. He said he sent the item.. so we'll see if I get it |

Did everyone know that paypal is an ebay company? I try to avoid ebay, even though I look around there occasionally. I don't have the time for disputes, so I just try the avoidance route.
