Please say prayers I was going to post on Mon announcing my new granddaughters arrival but she is surprising us. Isabella Rose is suppose to arrive by c-section on 10/16 but surprised us by making her mommy (my daughter) go into labor this morining 10/13. I am waiting by the phone for my son in law to call and tell me doc is going to deliver. They have her hooked up to fetal monitor and he is waiting to see how she does. Makes no sence to me but I am not the doc. Please keep my daughter Carol Ann and baby Isabella in your prayers today for a safe delivery. Thank you, Carol

Prayers for you & your daughter & granddaughter. I think the fetal monitor is pretty standard these days. Things have sure changed since we had our babies, didn't have any way of knowing the sex or seeing them until they were here & lots of times when they were coming was a complete surprise as well. Remember the old days of trying to count the heartbeats - wasn't a rapid one supposed to be a boy? And my old favorite, the pencil on a string held over the abdomen. I think if it went from head to toe, it was supposed to be a boy and if it went side to side a girl. It is probably a good thing you posted this morning. After some fairly unpleasant posts I have read lately on the Off Topic Forum, I had pretty much decided just to ignore that section of YT and stick to dog related topics, but had I done that I would have missed the opportunity to pray for your family this morning. Best wishes for all of you. I am sure all will be well. Medicine has certainy come a long way.

Congratulations! My first granddaughter was just born on August 2nd. My darling daughter decided she wanted a home birth! Of course, we were very against it and insisted she have a certified midwife at the very least. Kailea was born at home without any drugs, doctors, fetal monitors etc. in a water birth delivery. It was really exciting seeing her come out and swim in the water. It was a wonderful experience to share with her, but I was a nervous wreck!!!! I'm glad my other daughter said she would even consider having one at home!
