I didnt like the fat older women comment either. It seems like the point could have been gotten accross without saying that. I am not young or small like I used to be but I dont tear down the younger generation. I dont apprecciate being torn down by them also

I agree with amyd...let it die down now guys, it was a bad day and although I realize that the fat old comment could have come across better I was angry at the time..I'm sure we've all said things while we were angry...I also agree that women in general are just harder to work with...so everyone stop arguing we're all friends here no one hates anyone on this site...as I am sure all of you are bright and intellegent women despite age or waistline...Lots of Love girls...let's share the love now..come on...I know you can do it...I'm sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings...Let's all just remember to treat everyone well..a simple smile goes a long way..

I figured it out, check it out we are all smart!!

Education = Book Smart (hard work)
Experience = Street Smart (hard work)

Now there see there are also different types of intellegence! Whether young or old it takes more than book/street smarts, it takes courtesy, confidence, and respect! So calm down, if you were old you were there and if you are young you will be there. These are different times in a woman's life that mold who you are and will become! Take pride in yourselves and each other! If you have differences in opinion learn to respect that person's opinion even if you don't agree. Don't let anyone tell you your not worth it or treat you unkind. As a woman, human being we are responsible!

Just because your education is in a different field from theirs, does not mean that you are better, or more intelligent than they are.

I have a DIL with the same attitude as yours. She feels that because she has more education, that makes her smarter than her mother and me and therefore better than her mother and me. It doesn't. and until she learns that, she will never get along on the job or anywhere else.

And just for the record. I wouldnot go back to being your age for anything in the world. Life is much more comfortable when you get older. I like where I am at.

Here is the thing and I surely did not mean to come off as haughty as I did. But sometimes all of us regardless of age need to suck it up and just do our jobs.

In my line of work there are 1 million things that legal secretaries and paralegals do that I would not even no where to begin how to do, I respect that, need their help, and think they are extremely intelligent and valuable parts of what we do. Similarly, in my field the type of education I have has taught me to do a lot of things they do not have to do, which in a some senses are things that experience performing their jobs just would not teach them. However, I do know I could never get along without support staff.

I do stand behind my statement that if someone is your boss, you need to not treat them as if they are a moron. I also think it is ridiculous politely mind you to make copies for me or find me documents, she should do it without making a big fuss or thinking I am trying to be an a$$. There are good reasons for her to do so (1) clients are billed less for her time; (2) that is what she is paid to do not what I am paid to do and in a 9 hour work day we all have to get as much of our work done as possible; (3) it does not mean she is less intelligent she could be albert einstein for all I care, but it says something about her attitude towards working, when she just refuses or diddles around with work because she resents taking polite direction from someone younger.

The way I look at it there is no amount of education or experience that can save you from being rude!!! Putting people down because they are proud of accomplishments is rude! Not recognizing that going through nearly 10 years of school is an accomplishment and says something about a person's work ethic is just as small minded as thinking less educated people are unintelligent or less valuable! Treating people poorly in the work place because they have to "pay their dues" is not only ridiculous but fosters hostile and unproductive work environments, and I think this is the thing that all of us experiencing it feel is frustrating.

For the record I hate my age too! Neither of my parents attended college, and I think they are two of the smartest people I know, and I know I could never do their jobs no matter how much schooling I have had. I do however think being reasonable people they would not step into my office and assume life experience has given them the ability to be a lawyer.

Aahhhh they're just jealous I hope it doesn't happen to me I'm 19 and entering the working life soon well I have part time jobs now and then as I'm in college right now but I would just ignore them, hope things get better for you
