Default Help!!! Finding a home finding a forever home for my cats

Here the situation on 7/14 I got Gia and I already had to cats (Ash & Reese).Well they haven't exactly gotten along and I'm getting Gia's brother "Chewbacca" "Chewy" for short at the end of the month from the same breeder. My Gia has already been sent to the ER because Ash (the male cat) decided to slap her neck with his claws out and Gia just started bleeding uncontrollably. Everyone has told me it will take time but it is now 2 months later and they still hiss at her whenever she gets near & tries to play with them. And I'm tried of being the security guard everytime Gia decides to leave the room (they are so mean it her) and I know having two puppies running around things are only going to get worst. So I have decide to try to fins a forever home for them under the condition they are adopted together (they'll been together since birth). Where do I start?

Default where do you start?

get rid of the cats!!!!!!!!!!! Simple. Guess you can tell I am not a cat person at all. I had Ceeby to the vet a couple of days ago and the office cat decided to slap him. he had never, ever even seen a cat before and was trying to sniff the cat. Fortunately, he was on a leash and I jerked him back from the cat and the nurses took the cat into the other room. long story short, I would NEVER get rid of my yorkies for a cat.

It's kinda unfair that you've had the cats longest and since you brought a puppy into the home and they don't get along with it you want to get rid of the cats. Try to find someone with experience and work with the dogs and cats together. Or maybe you could just keep them seperated in different rooms until they learn to get along.

I am sorry, but I think its so silly that you would get rid of your poor cats, esp. since you had them before.

Also, why would you get another dog (which would cause more problems) when the cats and dog aren't getting along now?

If you still decide to get rid of them, I hope they have better forever homes.

I really did try to give them a chance to adjust but they seem not to be opening up to the pup, by now I would think they would be coming around a little. I've tried everything yelling at them, water, treats, et. It gets annoying because Gia needs to be able to run around the house and exercise and she can't. They jump over the baby gate at night and hiss at her. I was going to see if my brother would take them, but they also are considering getting a yorkie too. I can't get them declawed they are too old the have to be less than a year old in order for them to do it. I hate to give them away but it unfair to all of us. I know it would take time for them to adjust but things haven't gotten better just worst. The other day resse spit through the baby gate at Gia.I hate to give them away but I just don't know what else to do, and my mother is ready for them to go especially since she is getting her puppy at the end of the month. I'm hopping my brother will take them but I have to look at if he doesn't where can I get them signed up for adoption.

Let me clarify before anyone TRIES starts bashing me, the cats were never mine. They were my old roommates she abandoned them and I just decided to take them instead of giving them to the shelter. so before anyone states I'm being unfair or makes a sarcastic comment about them finding a better forever home it would be nice if you ask about the situation before you go assuming I'm just throwing out on the street. Quite frankly I think they've had a good home for the past three years considering I never wanted cats.

check the local papers vets & pets stores maybe there are rescue or adoption places that can help you find homes for them but as a last resort post an add looking for good homes only for these cats .

I really doubt your gonna find homes for adult cats. People just dont adopt them like they do dogs thats why there are so many at shelters. I have a cat and my cat has adapted to my dogs

Cats can be declawed at any age. It is untrue that they can't be declawed because they are over a year old. I've had cats declawed at all ages of life. Unfortunatly I had to find my cats loving homes when my son was diagonosed with asthma.

Good luck with this but the shelters are full of adult cats needing homes and having to adopt the two together will make it even tougher for them. Just out of curiosity, just where is this old roommate? Did she just dissappear into the night leaving her animals behind? If she did that, I'd hate to hear about all the other irresponsible things she must have done.

I hate to confess but I pretty much did the same thing with the two cats I had too. The first cat was given to us by my sister whose husband had found it at his job. Jasmine was a nice little cat and they said if we ever didn't want her, they'd take her back. After 5 years they did and she is still with them after 6 years. Jane, I took to the shelter. We found her on the street about a year after we took Jasmine in. She'd eat all of Jasmine's food and ripped up my couches. She shed terribly. I figured I had given her four good years and it was either her or my sanity. I did feel a little guilty but couldn't take it any more.

She also had the talent for making the pee come out of the covered litter box which I got so sick of cleaning. People are always suggesting that I get a litter box for Debbie and I just want to scream.

Well, maybe I should look into it again, because my vet said after a year he couldn't do it. Thanks a bunch!!!!

My roommate and I stop specking over financial issues she stopped paying her rent & I kicked her out. And that was pretty much the end of our friendship we haven't talked in the past 4 years I don't even know where's she is. She left the cats because she couldn't afford their up keep and decided to pass them off to me (knowing that I love animals). The poor cats were sick with worms, I nursed them back to heath because I felt so bad for them. But it has always been a dream of mine to have a yorkie and now that I have Gia I'm so happy but at the same time I can't let her have the freedom she deserves because of the cats.

declawing is cruel & if the cats want to hurt him they will just bite
declawing will not solve the problem
