Donating YT 30K Club Member | My Daughter is turning 21 My Dtr will turn 21 on 9/10 and I am looking for ideas from some of you youngsters and others on what to do do make her day special. Most of her friends are not 21 yet and I do not want to promote drinking for her and certainly not to under age kids so any ideas for non alcohol related celebration of a 21 st birthday. Thanks

| You can have a "mocktail" party..martini themed stuff..a martini shaped cake.. and then virgin drinks for everyone!

| Oh come on mom, I just turned 21 in May and my mom took me for drinks. Then I went out with my friends, it was the most fun I've had in forever She will only turn 21 once, maybe ask her what she wants to do!

| Here are some ideas from a 22 year old......... I like the "Mocktini" idea!!!!!!! But, OF COURSE you have to let your daughter drink REAL martinis or cocktails of her choice!!!!!!!!! It's her 21st bday!!!!!!!!!! But make the others drink virgins. I also like the idea of taking her out for a few drinks. Maybe you could take her and some of her friends out to a nice dinner and buy her a few drinks with dinner. Or, volunteer to be her designated driver for the evening! That would be so fun! Or, rent her a limo, let her invite friends, and let the limo take them out to a nice dinner and then bar hopping! One of my great friends did this for her 21st and it was an absolute BLAST!!!!! |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | you have to take her out for drinks for her 21st birthday! it wouldn't be a 21st with out at least 1 drink. i went to the bar on my 21 and had a blast with my friends. take her and the ones that are 21 to a happy hour and all the rest of her friends can go to your house afterward and have a part sans alcohol

| My mom and grandparents took me gambling on my 21st. b-day. I love poker and slots and just gambling period so we went the day b4 my birthday to the casino and went shopping around and then went actually in the casino when it hit midnight. I had soo much fun. We gambled a few hours then went to our room and took a nap and then went back down to the casino. I guess it made it fun b/c the closest casino is Harrahs in Chrokee, which is like a 4 hour drive from our house. So I havn't been back since my b-day. It's definatly a b-day I won't forget. Just and idea if you don't have a casino close by and if your daughter like gambling Crystal

| What about a pampering party afternoon? you know manicures, massage, pedicures, hair done etc. Then in the evening have a party! and hit the town, let her have a couple drinks and a bit of fun. Then maybe fireworks? Im turning 21 in November, im not a big drinker although the legal age is 18 here,i will be doing something special. |

| Your daughter and I share the same birthday! If you don't want to promote drinking, how about a day at the spa? Your daugher is legally able to drink... how about a girl's night out with a special dinner for you and her. If she wants to go out with friends to celebrate, she can do that after dinner. Good luck with the planning! |

| You and her can go 2 a spa during the day and then dinner, but only you and her, and maybe she can have atleast 1 drink? and then with all the 21+ clubs in Chicago, maybe she can go clubbing with her friends at night! |

| My mom took me gambling to Atlantic City for my 21st birthday. She paid for the trip and gave me some gambling money too. I am not much of a gambler but it was pretty fun.
