that is where my father grew up.....near clintwood va. it was actually called nora mountain. are you familiar with this area. AND IT IS THE BOONEYS.

Yes I am familiar with Clintwood. I grew up in Whitewood, VA. Clintwood is a big city compared to Whitewood. It's in Buchanan County. It's only about 20 minutes from the WV state line. Jolo, Bradshaw, Iaeger all in WV and within 30 min - 1 1/2 hours from where I grew up.

i am not sure where that is but i am sure my father does. clintwood was the nearest city to my fathers home town. they lived on nora mountain which to the day my grandmother passed she lived in the same house (shack) that my father was born in. there was no running water, electricity, and we had to use an outhouse. her house was up on stilts on the side of the mountain and when the train (behind her home) would come by, we would all run outside b/c we thought the house would fall down into the creek. my father was a coal miner up until i was born. most people dont get to see mountains like this area. it is so very beautiful to see.

Yes it is very beautiful. I'm not sure where Nora Mtn is. But I've been to Clintwood several times to basketball games.

Our nearest big city or town is Richlands or Grundy, VA, they are about a 25 - 30 min drive in opposite directions from us. Maybe you've heard of them.

I grew up in the country and couldn't wait to get out. I have been in the city for 19 years and I am yearning to go back. As soon as my hubby retires we are building a house out on 7 acres of property we own in the country. You never know what you have until its gone. I am sorry you are unhappy where you are!!

Just wanted to let y'all know that right down the road from us, the TOOTHBRUSH was invented. If it had been invented anywhere else, it would have been called a teethbrush!!!

Before my husband died, we lived in the middle of a 250 acre farm 12 miles from town.

When he died in October, the farm reverted back to his family ( which was fine with me!) and I got the house and everything else.

After a disastrous FIGHT with my husband's JERK BROTHER, I put the house up for sale and bought a new house a little closer to town but with 6 acres because I like privacy, peace, and quiet. It still blows my mind when I hear cars go by!!!

I'll be glad when the other house sells and I can completely cut ties with my husband's brother.
