| Just Venting... Took my little ones to Petsmart today to get a few new things. Well, boy did I learn a lesson on how people actually feel about our babies!!! This man and this woman proceed with the usual... Oh's and Ah's. But, proceed (sp?) to make mention of how they would purchase one of my babies in heartbeat...We bought one a while back, but had to get rid of her because she just kept growing...Blah, Blah, Blah! What floored me the most was when they said "Do you know how much you could get if you breed her? We're talking Teacups!" Referring to my little lady which I can easily fit on my forearm! At this point, I'm steaming because I'm already praying that she can be spayed on Tuesday (have to see my other forum on "False Pregnancy Symptoms")! I've read and even heard of folks that obtain animals for no other purpose than making a buck... But, NEVER have I experienced it in such blatancy!!! I treat mine as if they were my skin kids - Not property to be used and discarded!!! SOME NERVE!!! Thanks for listening... Just had to vent!!! |

| What a$$holes they are! Don't worry about it, people say the most dumbest things! I think your babies are adorable. Hell, I'd carry your baby for you while you shop! Cheer up! |

| Kept growing? Yorkies are small dogs, I can't imagine how "big" the puppy got! Maybe it's a good thing this couple did get rid of their dog. |

| For crying out loud, even the "teapots" are small dogs. What were they expecting, a 2 lb baby??????

My furkids Donating Member | IMO...people to waaayyy to much emphasis on the size of yorkies....yes, we love that fact that they are a small dog that we can put into a purse and carry around but, it is the "breed" that we are in love with. Sadie is 5.5 lbs I will be bringing home her new fursister in 2 weeks and her size is questimated at around 4.5 lbs. I wouldn't care if she was bigger..I feel the bigger the more durable! Less chance of breaking a bone and, less health problems. {JMO} How much did this person really love their dog if they got rid of her because she was going to be bigger!! I've had people ask me if Sadie is a toy or teacup...I am tired of being asked this question..If people would research the breed they would realize there is no such thing as teacup, teapot, teaspoon (what the h** is this??) etc....they are a "toy" breed. Maybe his dog was a silky and was sold as a yorkie..I'm sure that animal would have been a loving little dog and they gave her up! Some people are just stupid! Now I just vented!

Peeka Boo I See You! Donating Member | I must admit i fell victim at first to the tiny yorkies this is what i wanted like a 2-3 lb dog because this girl i know has a tiny one but when i first joined yt i learned really quick of the health problems and scares these little ones can have and i don't look down on anyone who has one i think they are all beautiful but Peeka and Boo are 2lbs at 11 weeks and i can't wait for them to get bigger it is so scary how many times they almost get stepped on and almost get shut in the door not to mention the countless times we have lost them in the house cause they can fit anywhere i can't wait for a bigger baby! but some people really only want these tinies and that is the market right now i just hope that people reserch these dogs more before they get one of them.

| Thank you ever so much for your insights!!! I'm glad to see that I am not the only one that feels this way. SIZE, WEIGHT, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH!!! WHO CARES!!! I just don't get it!!! People "should" love their pets regardless... |

| Some people do not need furbabies. I wanted a small dog as I have mentioned before. If Gypsy gets big, will I get rid of her? NO WAY! I just will not be able to carry her around as much, which she will hate. Bigger means more to love.

| It is sad really how much importance is put on the size of ones furbaby!! It is the very reason that there are people out there striving to breed tinies!!! I just wanted a yorkie... I never cared about how big she would get!! |
