FREE EASY GIF Animation Programs
 
IF you want to learn how to animate your pictures - I just found these programs on the net and tried them - they work and are VERY easy to learn - GO HERE - download and have fun http://www.jhepple.com/gif_animator.htm

It really helps if you know how to crop pictures BEFORE you use them - When you want to animate - Choose a picture - CROP out only what you want in the Animation - (like your Yorkies FACE) and Save it to a folder at the EXACT SIZE of your settings - Non Donating Members are 75 x 75 pixels - and 19.5 KB's and donating members are 125 pix 48.8 KB's....

Once you crop - use those pictures in the animation process. Do NOT go over these size limits or your avatar will not upload. IF your animation is too large - optimize it or delete a few pictures.

IF you don't know how to crop - THIS is a free Net Tool to crop online - http://www.onlineimageresize.com/

and this is a good free program for downloading - READ before you download to make sure this is something you can do.

Hey - no they don't have to be a gif - You start with Jpegs...which is a picture ...when you animate you save your animation as a gif - which is actually a Graphic Interchange File and technically a WEB Picture...

any picture CAN be a gif - but they don't have to start as one to animate.

and no - you shouldn't get spyware from these programs - I downloaded them to test them out and was fine.

I did save it, I saved it to my program files, but now I can't find it, lol. I thought I was pretty good on the computer, but maybe I need more "learn'n". Maybe I'll restart my computer and see

hahaha - I've done that - you can look at the download place again - pretend you want to download and look at the Actual NAME they call the download -

If you did the MS Gif Animator WITH HELP Files- the File name is GifSetup.exe

the one without Help Files is called GifAnimator.exe

Depending where you saved it - look for those names

You are nice person!!! I'm still checking things out. Denise517 needs to see this. She asked if I could do an avatar for her, I did, worked on my computer, but having trouble getting it the right size for her. This is a lot of hard work....lol

hi,
I saved it to my desktop and I have an icon but when I click on it it starts installing again and again but nothing else happens. What am I doing wrong?

Oh ohhh....that doesn't sound right - When you go to the program - Click Run - & it will open -

IF something isn't working right - try UNinstalling it then rebooting - then downloading and installing it again - it's a VERY small little program and window

LOL ! You're too sweet....I remember learning how to make avatars and stuff - I pulled my hair out for a week but figured it out. IF, back then, I knew about programs like these - I'd have caught on sooner & kept all my hair :)

i downloaded the animator.. I can't get it to open any images??? I've tried to drag and drop and open a file.. won't work for me.. doing something wrong???

Ok - Try saving a few pictures in GIF Format and they'll open - Since this is a GIF ANIMATOR - then it only uploads Gif Pictures -

Making a GIF is easy to do - in your Photo Editor you can use the SAVE TO WEB Function to save a picture as a gif file - or SAVE AS and you normally would and look for the drop down menu - USUALLY you have the option to save as a JPEG , BMP or GIF file - So if you're trying to make say....An Avatar - Crop your pics - save them as a Gif File and they should open ok.

I have an animation program I can email you - this one you can use jpegs with -

I'm having a super hard time trying to resave some as GIF... I did it with paint and it really messed up the colors horrible..

Aha - I always refer people to PIXRESIZER but here is a FREE site you can size pics right on the NET. It looks SUPER easy - http://www.picresize.com/

AND YOU CAN SAVE PICS AS GIF FILES HERE

Avatars look better cropped ...but for easy sizing pics for posting - without a download - I just sized a pic and it was simple-

I have Picture It 2002 and that is what I've used for making my avatar, but I've only figured out how to do just pictures. What program or how are these beautiful avatars that have names and all the other little tricks being made? :)

GOOD for you !! I have MS Picture it and use it all the time for Captions....

I use Photoshop Elements for Animating Avatars - Val (passionfruition)makes really cool avatars and she uses Photoshop - she's GREAT at that program - (I suck at it lol)

and some people use Jasc Paint Shop Pro w/animation. That USED to be offered free on a site - but whoever took over Jacs said no more bootleg free versions since Corel took over - I check all the time to see if they make it available again.

and I think a few people are using the ULEAD Gif Animation I emailed around - if you want to try it send me your email address. A friend shared that with me a long time ago and I'm happy to send it to anyone who wants to try it WITH directions.
