Vee, I hate to be so bothersome, but I NEED YOUR HELP AGAIN!!! I've downloaded all the different programs for the avatars, but I'm still having trouble getting nice square pictures. On the programs, it has what size to make the pictures, but not how many pixels.. so when I get ready to upload them it tell me they are too big. How can I tell before I upload them exactly what the size they are? |

I have tried the pixresizer, the Gif Animater, and my MS Picture It. I've just downloaded Infraview, but haven't had a chance to check it out yet. You don't know how much I appreciate your help!!! |

Step 1. SET your size to 75 pixels - you use the drop down where it says UNIT for Pixels..inches etc. Step 2. Click on the SQUARE Crop tool or the little 'x' (your picture should be faded looking).......Drag that crop tool around only the place you want cropped. Click Done - it will look blurry - but if you go open that cropped picture - it should show as a small sqare at 75 pixels. I did this from my MS Picture It version 7. I don't know what version you have but they should be similar. OR you can try here to crop online - FREE CROP SITE - http://www.picturemosaics.com/tools/crop/ Upload your pic - Click Crop - and just drag the tiny arrows to crop..... then size it in another program (like Picture it) to the correct size - 75 pixels. |
Thank you so much!!!!!!!!! I am going to try it right now... |

I don't use it myself for cropping - I use Photoshop and Adobe Photo Deluxe. They're much easier and when you actually crop - you can SEE the real size of the picture....MS Picture it only shows the true cropped picture after you save it and look at it in your folder - which I think sucks. I've looked at this program -Picasa - it's FREE and offers Cropping and editing and gets GREAT reviews from Google - You may want to try this instead - http://www.get-picasa.com/?r=mp |
Thank you again! Your instructions are easy to follow, but I'm using MS Picture It 2002. There is no Format to click on, etc. I do know how to crop the pictures, it's getting it to the size that YT will accept. YT accepts 125 X 125 or 48.8 KB. Whenever I would put in say 125 X 125 it is really small. It's just all very confusing for me. Usually I catch on pretty quick, especially on the computer, but I must have brain gas or something.... LOL And it makes it more difficult because we have two different versions and it's a hard program. I am now going to try the other one you suggested, wish me luck. I feel really stupid, but I'll keep trying. |

Aha !! :D :D Now I see what's happening ......that SIZE Limit for 125 pixels is ONLY for the Avatars that go under our user names - Not for picture Posting. ( See the flashing picture under my name ? That's an Avatar... and 125 Pixels is the size limit) The size for posting pictures is way bigger - So.....to size them and upload and show off your pictures in posts - they can be approx 400-600 Pixels in size - that's about just right for posting AND Viewing. (the size of an index card) You can also size them using Inches - just try 4" x 6" OR (about 450 PIXELS) and you can upload them into posts - and they're a good size for people to see - not too big and not too small. and ps....you can have a larger avatar since you donated - the one under your name is the 75 pixel size - you can have the same size I do - 125 pixels. |
I finally figured out how to do resize on Picasso. Thank you so very much for your help. I'm going to try it probably tonight or tomorrow. I'm finding it very hard to concentrate because I have to take my Joey in for a tooth cleaning and extraction tomorrow and I'm just a ball of nerves. Thank you again for all your instructions. I guess I should have explained myself a little better, I'm sorry. Keep checking my avatar in the next couple of days and that will tell you if I really got it or just think I do. LOL |
