| Petsmart Drama Just have to vent about my Petsmart experience today... I was over by the area where they do the pet adoptions. There is an enclosed glass area with cages inside and there were a few cats and one small dog. There were 3 little girls in there and their mom was standing outside the enclosure basically letting them run wild. The kids were jumping around and yelling loudly inside the enclosure. I could see that the animals were agitated. One little girl starts banging this stick pinwheel thing on one of the cages over and over. The poor kitty inside was freaking out. Finally I just couldn’t hold back anymore. I was ticked off that these kids were in there getting these poor animals worked up and banging on cages and the mom is doing nothing. I gently mentioned to her that it’s probably not a good idea to let her daughter bang on the cage that the animals seemed upset. She told me that her kids were just fine and to mind my own business. I was shocked speechless and just walked away. Of course you think of a million things to say after you’ve walked away, but its probably better that I did walk away I was so steamed! I was still worried about the animals, so when I went up to the register, I mentioned it to a couple ladies and one of them went back immediately to check it out. Okay, I tattled, I probably should have just stayed out of it, but I wanted to be sure the animals were okay. Not trying to reignite the kids in public debate, I think we’ve covered that ground….. so I apologize in advance. It was just upsetting watching the animals getting agitated. Bad enough they are in cages, but to have these kids tormenting them was more than I could take. Thanks for letting me vent... I've been upset about it all day! |

| Good job!! You were right in trying to do something for those poor animals! It just makes me furious to see kids taken into a public place and then turned loose to terrorize everything and everybody!! Do their parents think it's cute?? Congratulations for trying to help!

| Good for you!! I wouldn't be able to stand it either! I can't stand it when people let their kids do whatever they want! I have a 1 year old & I get embarrassed when she screams. I know she is still a baby, but I still feel like I should leave so not to disrupt everyone else!

| Sounds like you did a GREAT job resucing the poor kitties from the evil little girls. Knowing me i would have Gone in the glass enclosure and positioned myself so that no one else could hear me and very quietly and MEANLY say something like.... "you had better stop NOW".... smile sweetly and then walk out! LOL |

| Hey I would be right there with you. I would have said more than that. I get in trouble all the time for interfering and one day you will probably see me behind those shiny bars. It takes a village to raise a child right!!!!!!!! Obviously some parents can't do it. |

| I think what you did was perfect. You stayed out of it, but you still kept the wellbeing of the animals at interest. Also, who knows what wouldve happened, the kids couldve stuck their fingers in and gotten bitten, then their mom would want to sue petsmart. Don't be worried about what you did. You were mature and responsible. |

| I don't consider that tattling, exactly. That was sticking up for the poor defenseless animals who couldn't speak for themselves. Good job!!!!!!!! |

| I think you and I could be new best friends! I always shoot my mouth off. I've been told more than once to mind my own business. My reply to that is always "If what you are doing/saying/etc. is upsetting me, that makes it my business" Good for you!
