BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | how in the world can I get this out?? My husband went on a camp outing last weekend and they were using a armey tent, well the guy who brought the tent forgot the poles! (hahaha men) so they had to use the branches from a tree LOL well the tent fell and they had a Kerosene lantern hanging from the top of the tent and it fell on MY sleeping bad that he took with out MY permission! so now MY sleeping bad smells like Kerosene, I took it to a laundry matt and washed it and it still stinks, I tried baking soda and lemon juice, I tried dawn dish soap and I have let it soak for hours before washing it. Nothing seems to take the smell out, any ideas? |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Do NOT dry it in the dryer....no kidding. Kerosene will ignite in the dryer. I'd hang it outside in the sun for a few days....sunshine works wonders. Even if you fabreeze it...it will still smell like kerosene mixed with fabreeze.

Would have made for an exciting trip to the laundrymat Another idea....exchange your sleeping bag for hubby's....tell him...guess you have a new sleeping bag. Hubby once used my bicycle without permission...it was STOLEN. When he told me someone had stolen my bike...I'm like...someone broke into the garage?!?!? Then of course he had to fess up. Hang the bag outside....we camp alot...kerosene's pretty strong smelling...it may NEVER come out.

| I believe my mom told me "Goop" would take the smell. Goop is something that's been around forever & I think you can still buy it in the laundry aisle.

| You need something that will break down the oils, I would try Lestoil and Hot water. Then line dry. And you may need to launder a few times. Desiree |
