Sandal Season Is Here - Sandal Rules To Follow
 

Just a friendly reminder, it's that time of the year again...
time for sandals and open toe shoes
Please raise your BIG TOE and repeat after me:


I pledge to follow The Rules when I wear sandals and other open-toe shoes:

1. I promise to always wear sandals that fit. My toes will not hangover and touch the ground, nor will my heels spill over the backs. And the sides and tops of my feet will not pudge out between the straps.

2. I will go polish-free or vow to keep the polish fresh, intact and chip-free. I will not cheat and just touch up my big toe.

3. I will sand down any mounds of skin before they turn hard and yellow.

4. I will shave the hairs off my big toe.

5. I won't wear pantyhose even if my misinformed girlfriend/co-worker/mother/sister tells me the toe seam really will stay under my toes if I tuck it there.

6. If a strap breaks, I won't duct-tape, pin, glue or tuck it back into place hoping it will stay put. I will get my shoe fixed or toss it -- no matter how much it hurts.

7. I will not live in corn denial; rather I will lean on my good friend Dr. Scholl's if my feet need him.

8. I will resist the urge to buy jelly shoes at Payless for the low,low price of $4.99 even if my feet are small enough to fit into the kids' sizes. This is out of concern for my safety, and the safety of others. No one can walk properly when standing in a pool of sweat, and I would hate to take someone down with me as I fall and break my ankle.

9. I will take my toe ring off toward the end of the day if my toes swell and begin to look like Vienna sausages.

10. I will be brutally honest with my girlfriend/sister/co-worker when she asks me if her feet are too ugly to wear sandals. Someone has to tell her that her toes look like they've been dragged behind her car on the way to work and no sandal in the world is going to make her feet look good.

11. I will promise if I wear flip flops, that I will ensure they actually flip and flop, making the correct noise while walking and I will swear NOT to slide or drag my feet while wearing them.

12. I will promise to go to my local beauty school at least once per season and have a real pedicure (they are about $20 and worth EVERY penny). I say spend another $20.00 and get an even better one.

These are GREAT :D :D :D :D and I think I DO want a pedicure - they ARE worth every penny

That is funny, and needs to be brought out of the vault every Spring!

LOL! I am the flip-flop queen! That is the only thing I wear in the summer and spring, heck in the winter and fall sometimes! I love them! I will remember to abide by the rules :D

I thought it was funny...but very needed!
 

I actually got this in an email today! I have NEVER had a pedicure...would love to have one tho...I always say that the one thing I feel that really shows my age is my feet!!! It is a constant battle to keep these heels from being considered lethal weapons!!! And my toenails are not even painted right now...I guess I need to practice what I post huh!!! I think I will get me a pedicure this week and maybe then I can keep it all under control...LOL :D

I live in Birkenstock, Naots, and flip flops all spring, summer and fall! I have been know to wear my Birkenstock mules with socks in the winter! My feet were almost ruined the 10 years I worked in a bank and wore high heels all the time...so they crave comfy shoes...and you can't get more comfy than sandals and flip flops...I went to a returns type store today...they had all their Birkenstocks $20 a pair...none my size! :mad:

This is refered to as the bread bakin' clause. No yeast risin' swollen bread bakin' lookin' feet....NONE, ya hear me? :eek:

46 and NEVER had a pedicure...I am probably breaking some law somwhere!

The pantyhose one is DEFINITELY most important. Ew ew ew ew ewwwww!!! I never wear pantyhose no matter what!

From my house to yours it is 2,552.5 miles, 4 days, 5 hours and 39 minutes! I have probably been really near where you live a couple of years ago as we used to work claims up in that area! But this time, I think I will just have to go see my little friends from Vietnam at Walmart! They do my nails all the time and seeing those ladies getting those wonderful pedicures always appealed to me...I will have to try them out!!! Thanks for the offer tho!!! :D

Make sure you find one with the massage chairs and not one that just brings out a bucket. Go for the whirlpool massage chair ones.

That and the leg massage are the best part of a pedicure. They could skip painting my nails....just give me the massage. ;)

I went to Sally's and bought myself one of the scrapper razor things....no callouses, or cracked heels here. :D I love that thing.

I have watched the guys doing the pedicures at Walmart. They are really nice chairs with the whirlpool and everything...and yes, they massage the leg all the way to the knee. I love the expressions on the faces of those getting that royal treatment!!! I can't wait.

Deb, what is that razor thing called you got at Sally's? I need to get one of those for sure. My heels are just the worst. I pumice in the tub every night and moisturize and still they are like the Sahara! Getting old is just the pits!!!

I LIVE in sandles and flip flops in the summer. I'm a shoe girl!! :D :D

I just bought a pair of platforms yesterday from Reef's. Oh, they make the BEST sandles! Expensive, but worth every penny. I have a pair that's lasted 5 years and still going.

Hey, how about take pictures of our pedicured feet with the flip flops and post them up here?? Lol. C'mon pledges!

Merrell shoes are actually the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn-even more comfortable than my birks and sandals. They are much more expensive than $20 though...but worth every penny

I've actually never had a pedicure either. My feet are SO ticklish that it would be unbearable for me if someone were touching my feet

I have a pair of the Merrell flip flops!!! I love them and they are so kind to my feet! You do get what you pay for in shoes. I have learned that lesson the hard way! I wore cheapo shoes when I was younger and have just about wrecked my feet. I treat them much kinder these days! And yeah, my feet are very ticklish...that might be a prob with a pedicure!!!:D

I wear Clarks shoes. They are so comfortable and cute. They have pretty pink and peach sandels this year. I cant wait to buy them

Oh man you need to experience at least once. Just relax and you'll be fine. My dad is the same way and now he even goes. It makes the little gals giggle.

They are good for your feet, too. I also like Born...VERY good for your feet. I don't know about you guys, but if my feet hurt, I am not happy at all. Same when my feet are cold...I am just miserable! I have slept with socks on very frequently due to freezing feet...last week I think!!! This has become a very informative thread!

My Dad goes and gets manicures and pedicures and my brothers tease him. My fiance' goes but he won't tell anyone LOL

OH I love the massage and my niece lives with us so we take turns with the massages in between pedicures:D
