| Coupons? Ok... So now that I am a housewife... I have to learn all of the housewife duties... one of them being finding ways to save the family money... (so I can secretly spend it on the Girls!) I learned today that by saving cans I can rack up some quick cash! Did you guys know that the price of cans has gone way up! It was like 2 and a half cents last time I checked... now its way more than that, my step son is trying to tell me its like 7 or 8 cents! if thats true, do you know how much cash I have thrown away! My husband is a diet coke junkie! Half of my trash is cans! lol I am so saving cans from now on! Even if its half that much... I should save them... I was wondering if any of you clip coupons... What advice can you give me... Do you have a system? Any tips? How do you organize these darn things! by type? by expiration date? I saw once somewhere that there was a website that told you about all of the best deals, but I never wrote it down... There must be some trick to it that my mom never taught me. Also... if any of you savvy wives have any amazing words of wisdom for me... I'm all ears! I can use all the help I can get! Would you believe that I had to ask the butcher to walk me down the meat isle and actually point to the cuts of meat that I could use to make a pot roast with. (the recipe did not say exactly what cut!) I'm 31.... he looked at me like I was kidding... and then felt like a big dope when he realized I was serious...

| My stepson turns them in every weekend... $20 give or take a buck or two... never fail! He cashes in as part of his allowance. Its his job to sort and collect them along with his other chores... and thats his payment. He thinks its pretty cool, and its totally green. ( good for the environment )

| There are tons of coupon websites that you can print coupons off of. Just type in coupons in your search engine. Off the top of my head.... www.coolsavings.com www.couponsaver.com & there are tons more. I usually just clip the coupons from the Sunday paper also & I know Wal-Mart honors all competitor ads. So if someone is having an awesome sale, you can take the ad to wal-mart & get the same thing there for the same price. I do this sometimes cause I do my grocery shopping there & don't want to go to both places.

| I am NEW to the "housewife" lifestyle too. I have found alot of coupon sites, but I like one more than all the others.Try this site. http://forums.gottadeal.com/ It has online coupons, in store coupons, freebies, ect... It is my absolute favorite coupon site! I get so much stuff from there... it's like HEAVEN! I even got a free XM satellite radio about 2 months ago! No strings attached either! |

| I have to visit just on the name alone!!! Fat Wallet! lol Sounds like my kind of sight! I found one last night called The Grocery Game; Terries List. its a list that comes out each week that tells you what coupons to play to save the most money, it pairs up in store rock bottom sales with the weekly newspaper coupons of today and weeks past to optimize your savings! Looked really cool! The 4 week trial is only $1 and then its 10 15 pr 20 every 8 weeks to continue... but the savings are totally worth it from the looks of it! Which is why they give you the 4 weeks to try it out and see how much you will really save. I can't wait to try it! I'll have to let you all know how it goes! I am picking up a second trash can for the garage this week and one of those wall mounted can crushers. I'll rinse the cans out and let my daughter crush them after school... and then she can toss them into the big can... I figure it will take a while to fill it if they are crushed. and we can avoid an ant problem if I rinse them out with water! See I'm learning already! Can you believe its 750am and I'm up!! I don't even have to be to work! ugh! We're out of milk... So I had to get up and make eggs, ham and toast for Katie so she had brain food...they don't eat lunch till after 1pm! She'd be starving if she skipped breakfast! She made that mistake her first week... It was awefull! Her teacher called me at home to ask me why she had skipped breakfast... well, at her old school, they had lunch at 11:25.... and school started at 8:50.... seemed silly to load up on food and eat two hours later! Our nations children are a bit on the heavy side to begin with.... I'm sure that schedules like that don't help! But here she starts at 8:10 and eats at 1:20... 5 hours later! I also pack her a snack! Sorry, I must not be awake yet... I'm going on and on.... I need to go back to bed... I was up till 2 watching Tivo'd DHW and GA!

| I don't use coupons, but I have a Vons card at the store. I guess you save money because when they tell me "you saved 23.14 I say great, and pocket the money for something else. (oh, yes, my husband knows I do this) I do love this site http://www.gottadeal.com/bfindex.php It's really for Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. It tells you where all the sales are before the paper comes out. But my friend looks at it all year too. Best of luck to you! And Happy Sale Hunting!!!
