| If eensor is a little slow getting back to you about their condo .... they are there now .... left yesterday! Don't know how long she will be down there, but am sure she will get in touch when she gets back! Maybe you will hear from Schatzie soon ... I believe she and her husband spent this past Christmas there?! Goot luck!

| Ive been to the cozumel area 3 times which is very close to Cancun and I highly recommend you go to Xcaret. Its an eco-archealogical park and it has sooooo much to do. The have an underground river system that is very unique as it is saltwater/brackish and you can snorkle it(we did and it was fun). They also have mayan ruins, a beach area with more snorkleing, dolphin encounter, aquarium, mayan cultural shows, zoo, butterfly exhibit/pavillian.... just a whole lot of stuff and the place is gorgeous. Its a great way to spend an entire day and its inexpensive. Here is a ling to thier website: http://www.xcaret.com/

| Here is my advice if you've never been to Mexico. I don't recommend going in the summer, especially too far south. it gets HORRIBLY hot there. The only good thing is that the places you stay will give you discounts during that time period. Definitely get referrals from people you know before you make reservations because some places might not be kept very well to say the least. That's why eensor is great, since we know her and ppl from YT have been very happy with her's. Defiantly do some shopping while you're there. The coolest thing is that you can haggle for very low prices. It's kinda fun. But do be careful with your money. I don't leave my husband's side while I'm there. Oh yeah, and if you drive there-get Mexican insurance. They drive like California drivers Mexico is very different than the US. But it depends on the area. Some places are more "Americanized," and are great vacation spots, others are much more poor. By the way, If you ever go to Tijuana, don't down stay there after sundown. When I was in the navy someone I knew had to go there to retrieve someone's body who looked at a guy's gf wrong at the bar. TJ is really dirty and the streets smell like urine. But you can get some cheap stuff there. They also have their kids in the streets selling stuff and lots of people begging. It is very sad be waiting in traffic at the boarder crossing and see a woman with 5 kids begging to each car My husband got his shoes stolen at the beach in Matzalan last week. . Be careful of scammers and people trying to rip you off. No street vender has any real Oakleys or Louie bags! lol I know it might sound snobby but I don't drink the water there and I'm very picky about what I eat there. I hope I haven't turned you off of it! It is fun getting to see a new place. It's just TJ that is the worst and I never recommend people to go there. IMO the places where the cruise ships stop at tend to be the best. Also, in Zihuatanejo families can release sea turtles back into the ocean in one of their programs. This is something my husband and I wanted to do. Good luck in whatever you decide! And I recommend the pyramids as well. It's just the background stories on those are a little scary. Good luck on whatever you decide! I hope I didn't make anyone mad here with my opinions http://www.pbase.com/al309/turtles |
