Oh yes, the ol' Get em drunk, sales strategy! Last summer I had the same candle party with a Mexican theme,, margaritas, chips, salsa, bean dip, etc.
Well the girl that did it, said it was the highest sales party she has ever had, I got 200.00 worth of free candles, now all my friends are having them, trying to out do mine... no booze, ain't happenin' ! Plus mine was on a Saturday night,,not a Wed/Ash Wednesday, to boot.

No, just no meat. My kids hate anchovies. Maybe I will though on black olives. However, during lent I have an overwhelming desire to have any kind of meat on Fridays. That cheesecake for dinner sounds even better though.

I too observe lent so won't be eating meat today .Brought a can of Progresso soup - minestrone - BORING! I'll probably just skip dinner.

Whew....I feel so much better....another lamb lovin' convert...I don't eat veal either. Calves are cute, and no baby chick anything. Had a friend whose grandmother cooked creamed baby chicken feet. She said it was similar to creamed corn (yea sure, but corn doesn't peep) Any way all I could ever picture was fluffy, yellow chicks laying in a pile somewhere Cause what the heck would someone do with the rest of them???? I admit cows are NOT cute and subject to supper.....
