We put out some attic stairs, and a sink for the BIG city trash people to pick up....Mr. Brillant puts a notice on the door...you have to call 24 hours ahead if you want it picked up....lug it all into the back....call the next week....gal on the phone says we don't pick up that stuff :rolleyes:

We put our cans out right before the truck comes down the street.
I wouldn't mind the people who check out what you've got, but they make a mess, and don't pick it up. So forget them, I'll wait to put it out.
They always want our soda cans, but they put our news papers on the ground to get them, one wind, and it's a mess out there. :eek: :eek: :eek:

Last summer Bf is putting a new full glass screen door on the front of my house, old one is laying there, someone stops. walks up " are you throwing that door away, if so, can we have it?" SURE, I say.
I could NEVER walk up and ask a stranger for something, no matter what it was, or how bad I needed it. People blow my mind on a daily basis. :rolleyes:

We have two bins...one for trash and one for recycling. Our neighbor's are big beer drinkers...they fill that entire blue bin with nothing but bottles....sounds like the Anshaseur Busch plant recycling when the truck dumps that sucker. One time the truck's chain broke, broke bottles all over the street...the owner was home and watched it happen...he said he didn't say a word....just went out to the truck and handed the driver a broom :D

That happened with our sons bed!!!
We took it out side to put on one of the work trucks going to the dump.
This guy drove up and said, Can I have that bed? Hey take it, saved us a dump fee.

Our drivers would have drove away.
They are the worst when it comes to cleaning their mess.

Let me tell ya...you were in for a surprise when she called ya...there was no telling what gem she'd found for you. My neice, her great granddaughter was about 11....my SIL...said, Jenn would tell her "momma, I don't want any of that junk"....she'd tell her...cause SIL is always nice..."you don't have to wear it, just say thank you...we'll throw it away when we get home" Yeppers we were throwing away the trash someone had already thrown away. :rolleyes:

That grandma was a hoot :D :D

Deb, I read that story about you g-ma somewhere, I think you have posted it before, but that is just so funny! I would definetly be giving your bro a call and telling him that you want the pic if hes not going to put it on the wall ;)

We have a friend who is 85 years old, I take her out shopping a lot.
She loves the Thrift Stores!!!! Her family live in Washington, it's too
cold there for her. So during the Holidays she's here with us. The look on my kids faces is PRICELESS!!! Bless her heart, she's a really nice lady, but the things she buys. :yelrotflm

My husband has a grill obsession...if one is at the curb...it came to live at our house. We had SEVEN of those things. I tried over and over to tell him....do ya not realize why it's at the curb, the people got a new one. Our friends even know about this addiction....they'd call on the phone...oh, Har-ree, we saw a grill for ya ;) I begged them to stop :D I bought him a 700 dollar grill last father's day...so I could get him to toss out the homeless ones....we still have three....just in case, we have to cook for 400 hundred.

He also used to buy phones at yard sales. Tried an explaination there too...sweetie, WHO, sells a phone for no reason? Useless. One he brought home the number 6 didn't work....you were ok as long as whoever you were calling didn't have a #6 digit in the phone number :rolleyes: Another....you'd dial...say 420-8729....someone answer...wrong number, what number were you calling...you'd tell them and they'd say...you've reach 678-9378....nothing even close to the number you'd dialed....got so I just say...forget it and hang up :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

GINA...my grandmother's not in heaven...she's at YOUR house. Send her home please. Every Friday, my mother took my grandmother to garage sales and the thrift stores :) I'll tell you something....this woman left an estate in access of 1 million...I'm not kidding. If we asked her for money, she'd give it to us...but if it were a gift, you'd dang sure had better picked it out yourself....
