| Eight Below Has anyone seen this new movie "Eight Below" about the sled dogs? I have always been fascinated with dogsledding (but it's hard to put a husky in a bag and sneak him into a restaurant, so I got a yorkie instead). I am going to see it soon.... Let me know if you liked it. Thanks |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | We have a story running in our paper tomorrow on three Alaska dogs used in the filming. All three were used to play one dog, "Buck." They are a reddish color if anyone sees the movie. From what I gather, it's based on a real story and sounds good. The guy who owns the Alaska dogs said the filmmakers told him nothing about the movie.

| I love movie factoids! Cool! I'll wait for the DVD but I will remember this and look for the red Alaska dog!

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | I am a little miffed they overlooked Eddie, though. He's reddish. For all you sled dog fans, we have a bunch of cool sled dog races going on the next two weeks in Anchorage. The big one is next weekend. I'll try to take some vids and post.

| We just got home from seeing this movie about 10 minutes ago and I loved it! It is based on a true story. We haven't been to a theatre in years but this one was actually worth going to see. Take some tissue and sit in front so no one can see you cry...it's a tear jerker! Oh and here's another little tip for those of you who don't eat alot of popcorn...get the kid's box...you get a good portion of popcorn, a bag of candy and a small pop for about half of what an adult sized small popcorn and small pop costs! |
