| Home Improvements? Paint Removal? I am currently working on a project and I am trying to figure out how to remove paint off of wooden chairs so I can change the color from white to red... would I use thinner or sand them all down? Thanks! I bet there are alot of crafty people here!! |

| I can only think of two options to remove the paint, and neither one are fun..... and two easy way outs 1) a chemical paint stripper -- the kind you paint on and it bubbles and does it's thing and then you wipe the paint off 2) good old fashioned sand paper and a lot of elbow grease easy way 1) you might consider lightly sanding the chairs, painting them with a good quality primer and then repainting with the red paint. easy way 2) Unless the chairs have a lot of sentimental value or you have huge amounts of time on your hands, you might think of buying new unpainted chairs and painting them. Me, I would opt for the easiest option of all, find some red chairs and BUY THEM and have a yard sale. Someone near you would really love to have white chairs. good luck and I want to see pics of the finished product! |

| you could try a heat gun, but be careful. You can hurt yourself. |

I'm thinking paint thinner, or the primer then paint, I think if I paint over them it will peel........ thanks~! |
