| Had enough! Just needing to vent. This weekend I did something really dumb. Well for me it's a common occurance but still stupid. While walking and talking I fell off the curb. Yes all 5 inches. I tore all the ligaments in my left ankle from the front middle around the inside to the back. I had this ankle reconstructed years ago from a softball injury. I was really worried that I had injuried that but it was everything that hadn't been reconstructed. I am now in a brace and on crutches. 4 days is enough walking around on these stupid crutches. I can't do anything, carry anything, I have to walk down stairs to get to my computer so needless to say I haven't been on, in general it just S**ks. OK i know I could be alot worse off. But I'm just in a mood since this has happened. To top it off I am an accountant and hate this time of year. Thanks for letting me vent. To top it off we are suppose to get ALOT of snow this weekend. So I will not even be able to go outside!

| Oh, I'm sorry for your accident. I cringed when I read what you did! OUCH! I hate being so helpless, My back went out once and it was the worst, laying around in pain, wanting to do all these things and you couldn't. I hope you get better soon, and are not in too much pain.

| After falling not once but twice down our stairs, I know how you feel. Take care yourself. I know it's a pain in the butt! My last fall happened some time ago and it still bothers me on cold days. The older you are the longer it takes to heal,, not saying that you are old! I'm totally talking about myself,,,,, I am 37 and my bones are not as young as they used to be.

| OMG...........girl I am sorta feeling your pain. I am soooooo sorry about your injury. Last year during spring break I took my kids to a roller skating party and I fell and broke my wrist. Now I didn't have to have crutches and it didn't slow me down that way. I couldn't really carry things very well. I am a Dental Assistant and that definitely was a problem. I had to have surgery and work was limited for over 3 months. I hope you didn't do any serious damage and hope things go well.

| Oh my I kind of know where your coming from as several years back I fell off the bottom step of my porch and broke my ankle....Crutches are a real pain in the butt, but yet it is needed to let the ankle heal. Sorry you are going through this, hope you get better soon. |

| Carolyn, I live in Clark exit 135. Yes this snow thing shocked me I was on the News this AM. Seems like we are going to get hit with a big one. They are saying all the models are coming together and we are suppose to get a minimum of at least a foot.... But we all know this one. Yeah it's going to snow were going to get alot. and then nothing. Kinda hoping for the nothing. I want Spring.!!! Where in Jersey do you live? Monica, You're still a baby!! I will be 44 next month. Yes I know about those old bones. I am really going to do what the Ortho tells me especially since I had major reconstructive surgery on this ankle once. He said that is partially why they all tore on the opposite side. I just hate being kinda helpless. I can't even get my own coffee! Can't carry it. I am not the kind of person who likes to be waited on. Don't have the patience. I just need a more interesting story on how it happened being a huge clutz falling off the curb just doesn't cut it.

| Boo Hoo- I am so sorry this happened. It really is a pain to be layed up. We take so much for granted. I hope you feel better soon and can at least get off of your crutches. I broke my ankle 25 yrs ago while hiking and I had a 6 month old that was nursing. I was in the hospital 8 days. Needless to say he took a bottle real fast |

Susan, I don't know if I ever mentioned it, but I lived in Westfield before I moved here. On Washington right off of Central. Been down here at Exit 114 about 8 yrs now. I'm kinda between the two of you. Quote:
I was always embarrassed to say how I did it, so my hubby was always making up different stories about how it happened just to make me laugh. I remember once he was wheeling me around the Menlo Mall and told someone that I fell while skiing in St Tropez (he meant St Moritz!) and they went on and on about European hospitals. I know they must have thought I was nuts for giggling so hard! We'll have to come up with a believable story for you! Feel better!
